The guest house is nice and serves a very good breakfast but it lacks amenities and the rooms are very basic. The biggest issue we had was the lack of sound insulation. We could clearly hear snoring from another room, and when the other room had a shower, it sounded like there was rain pelting on a flat roof above. Conversation could also be clearly be heard. I guess we were a little unlucky as our neighbours were really early risers and it meant we didn’t get a very good nights sleep, and above all else, it’s what I want more than anything from a hotel/guest house.

Lovely stay at Leighton House. Beautiful decor and lots of nice extra touches. Breakfast was great and perfect location for walking into Bath. Free parking on site too.

Great little hidden gem!

From check in through to check out the staff were very good. Breakfast was excellent and our room was comfy, quiet and had all the amenities that you would expect. The hotel was perfect for our stay and provided ample free parking which gave us a good base for our few days in Bath. It is halfway up a hill which was not a problem for us but for others not keen on walking up hill then be prepared to get a taxi or bus back from the town centre.

We had an enjoyable visit but as the last Guests to arrive we were given the room at the top of the house. Quite a hike for an 82yr old! Otherwise it was comfortable.

Lovely stay from start to finish. There’s a nice lobby with refreshments all day and attractive artwork. The rooms are clean with comfortable, updated furnishings and much-appreciated AC. We also had a very nice bath room. The hotel was quiet both inside and out. Breakfast was excellent— choices included full English, varied eggs Benedict, and a buffet of yogurt, granola, cereals, assorted pastries, etc. Breakfast servers were very welcoming and efficient. The free parking was great (but tight!)— we walked into Bath once, but it was very hot, so we also ended up taking short uber rides here and there too, My one warning: there is no lift, and while we were told our room was on the second floor, we actually had to lug suitcases up 4+ mini flights of stairs due to the winding nature of the house. I do wish someone had offered help with bringing up the bags, as it seemed like they strive for service of that caliber otherwise.

Recommend a stay here when in Bath. A quick walk or ride up from the train station. Excellent communications and service. Well decorated, nice breakfast and a lovely renovation.
