Lovely hotel, very quirky

Amazing architecture. Quirky. Superbly comfortable bed. Let down by terrible (non-existent) WiFi and draughty room - we were in 400, the bedroom was fine but the living area had a big gap under the door through which a cold draught came. We ended up using cushions as a makeshift draught excluder. Staff were all brilliant - special mentions to Gabriella and Kate on Reception. Teenage daughter loved the ghost stories attached to the building, we had to locate room 261 and the haunted (and stunning) staircase was right next to our room. The Winter Garden was sadly closed so we ended up grabbing drinks from the Refuge bar and taking them up to our room (as the bar was packed) before venturing out for food. We will definitely be back.

The hotel was so loud due to the trains passing by all night.

A beautiful hotel, it was so stylish and attention to detail with the decor was so impressive. The rooms were beautiful and had everything you needed. The breakfast was delicious and there was so much to choose from. I would definitely stay again.

Our stay was ok. We booked the premier king room and bed was Superking which was great but everything else felt a little tired including the carpet. For a 5 star hotel I expected a lot more from the room, amenities. The bar was lovely for drinks, but at 1pm in the afternoon the chilled music dj was very loud, couldn’t talk at normal level, had to really speak loud…

Excellent hotel

The hotel is older than others and the rooms are not renovated - but the staff were really nice and showed me a few rooms until I was ok - I did pay a small upgrade- but the area is not great - I had an ok stay for 2 nights but would not go back.

From the moment you enter, the property has a luxurious smell. A warm welcome from reception staff and clear instructions to the room. The room was well stocked, bath salts at the ready & all you need from a room.

Second time staying in this hotel, love it , very historical and beautiful,ideal for theatre and about 10 minutes walk to centre

Great hotel. Not quite 5 star service but still enjoyable. Our room was cold and we needed an extra heating source to make it just that bit more bearable. The bathroom did not have any heating and was very cold.

Absolutely stunning hotel. The rooms are unreal, very comfortable bed. Bathroom was amazing and very clean and spacious. Wonderful staff. I can’t wait to return soon hopefully. Would highly recommend. Perfect location, especially if going to see a show. Just a walk across the road from the Theatre as well as Oxford Road station.
