I stay just one night before Mt Bromo tour. Basic accommodation but extremely attractive and helpful service. Not far from Malang train station, food court and Rainbow/Blue Village. Definitely recommend.

Location is within walking distance with alun-alun malang (tugu) Also there are so many restaurants nearby since it 's also near the train station. Feels like home.

We had a very nice stay in the guesthouse. The owner can speak English. She is very helpful and accommodating. She recommended a restaurant/coffee shop where you can eat and drink. Also, she recommended some beautiful places to visit nearby with detailed instructions. The place is very relaxing. The room and toilet are clean with a hot/cold shower. Each area/level is provided with a place to dine in with a hot/cold water dispenser, cups and plates. I have forgotten to take some photos but what you see is what you get from the site posted. Thank you so much, Griyo Sultan Agung Guesthouse. ❤

Endah was so helpful, friendly and concern on our safety. The room is clean with basic necessities and enough for us to sleep and have shower as our activities took long time outside of the hotel.

My stay was awesome, it's a lovely place with great rooms tucked away from the noise and bustle (especially. During Ramadan). It 's walking distance from the train station, it 's also beside a motorcycle rental place. Across the street there 's a nice cafe and around the corner there is an outdoor bar-which aren't that common in Malang. The breakfast was amazing and more specifically Endah the proprietor was super welcoming, incredibly helpful with all things local and very kind. I was traveling solo and a little overwhelmed -if not jaded- by all the group package tours for Bromo, Ijen, waterfalls etc. And wasn't interested in doing all three sunrises in a row without sleep on route to the ferry terminal for Bali -which seemed to be the fast-track everyone else was on. Endah helped me organize solo visits for much more reasonable rates. Malang is a bit of a sleeper, most people just pass through, but I found it much more enjoyable than say Bandung which is advertised as the "Paris" of Java. Malang has nice boulevards, is very walk-able compared to other towns and has flower markets, bird markets, a bounty of food options. I could go on, but a lasting memory will definitely be my conversations with Endah on Javanese politics, culture, religion, food etc. Endah is also a doctor if you should need it! I threw my back out and she was kind and genuinely concerned for me, offering to get me anything I needed including food. She is extremely generous in all things. I had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it to all.
