Tanjung Rhu Resort is located in a dream spot. Absolutely stunning private beach with beautiful sunsets. Beautifully maintained garden and lovely pool areas (separate pool for adults only which is ideal for a couple). Very attentive and friendly staff really made us feel welcome and taken care off. Dinner options not very exciting but great selection for breakfast. We absolutely loved our stay and would come back any time over the more ‘highly rated’ places in the west of the island where we’ve stayed as well.

The Tanjong Rhu hotel estate with its casuarina trees and sublime immense stone wall pool and slightly faded white washed castle architecture made this a wonderful holiday for me

Overall we had a good experience. The room was good and had all the basic necessities. The property itself is getting a bit outdated.
The view on the beach is amazing. The pools are huge which I really liked.
The options for food are ok. The quality of the food is below europeans standards. And the possibility to go out for diner require a bit more effort since the resort is very secluded and there is not much in the neighborhood.
We enjoyed the nature and the animals around the area.
The staff is a hit or miss. Some of them are well trained, others don’t know what they are doing. Which sometimes gives a bit bit of a confusing experience.
Overall a very nice place to stay.

The property is such a relaxing resort. The staff is top notch and very helpful. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the private beach is a plus, as are the two sculpted swimming pools. The suites are spacious and clean and even the outdoor bathrooms are pretty! My family and I did enjoy our stay.
One thing to note is that there are no lifts - we requested a change from a third floor room to one on the ground floor as my mother is elderly, and the front desk staff was able to get us one right away. If you have someone in your group who has mobility challenges, you might want to make the same request.
The next morning at breakfast (included in the stay), the executive assistant came to ask if we were satisfied with the room change and if there was anything else we needed. That’s good service!

We had a wonderful stay - the resort location is peaceful and stunning on its own private beach with amazing views. The staff are attentive and friendly. The food and drinks were great. The sea view room was amazing, especially at sunset!

Where to start!
Upon check in, had to wait ages to get a rolm even though we had a young baby. And the room they gave was disgusting as they are renovating some rooms - room was dirty and we had to ask a few times to get it cleaned.
No high chair at breakfast until we were about to leave.
The staff are very rude - esp Syafirah! Had an issue until the manager came and he gave us some insight on how the hotel has just been taken over so staff need retrainjng. Totally not acceptable for a 5* resort.

I liked the amazing beach, no single-use plastics, expansive pools. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and clean. The hotel also offered a lot of complimentary activities, especially for kids, which were very thoughtful. For improvement, the hotel can consider more environmentally friendly practices, such as reducing boating activities around sensitive mangroves, not feeding wildlife or offering tours that feed wildlife (eagles, monkeys, squirrels), and improving wait times for meals and using more healthy ingredients for meals (e.g., less salt).
