Holiday Inn EDINBURGH, an IHG Hotel

As good as big, impersonal, city centre chain hotels normally are. The building is pretty dated on the outside, but fine on the inside. Staff are friendly, it's very convenient for the city (by bus) and parking wasn't an issue.

A short weekend break. Stayed 2 night. Staff were good, restaurant staff excellent. Breakfast was usual high standard. Pool too small and misleading to say its a spa .. no spa treatments, only independent masseuse, who was not on premises during our stay.

Well situated in a quiet location with easy access to the city centre by car or by 'bus. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. My room was comfortable and reasonably priced for a 3 star hotel in the city. Breakfast was expensive for what was on offer as choices were very limited and if staying for more than one night - very repetitive. More fresh fruit is needed, and although porage is listed on the menu, I didn't see any on offer during the 3 days I stayed. Similarly, the dinner menu desperately lacks imagination and scope. Parking is chronic due to very limited availability. Otherwise, a reasonably fair deal for a couple of nights stopover.

Decent hotel

The rooms were very dated and it looked like the hotel was in the process of renovating. The location is good for getting into central Edinburgh as there bus stops right outside the hotel. We were snowed in during our stay but we were able to occupy ourselves at the bar and games area. The games area include pool table, foosball table as well as few board games although a lot pieces were missing. Overall a good stay.

Had a lovely two-night stay here, Alisdair at reception was incredibly helpful when checking in and if we had any further questions:) would definitely stay here in future when returning to Edinburgh.

Hotel room was nice and clean, beds were very comfortable. All staff were very friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere in the dining area was really open and relaxed with nice decor. The breakfast was very good with a large selection of food and drinks. Would recommend

Stayed for one night at busy Xmas period. Had a twin room and it was really spacious and comfy. Went to the pool and spa area but it was far too busy( don’t know if that was the time we went 5pm or time of year) Breakfast in the morning was more than excellent with a wide variety on offer and they even had Haggis. Overall it was a pleasant stay and so handy for the Zoo and buses into Edinburgh

Popped down to Edinburgh for pre christmas outing. This hotel in a great location out of the main centre but all is easily acfessible by bus.

There was a zoo just next to the hotel, which was very fun and lovely. The availability of a Starbucks and some entertainment areas in the lounge was unique, and I enjoyed using all the facilities. I could not use the sauna, but it would have been as wonderful.
