Four Star by Trans Hotel

The reception was terrible. The receptionist was alone to attend to more than 20 people simultaneously. They have to save costs, and for this, he works alone after certain times. They were checking. Time: 30 minutes! The received room discussion. Dirty, smelly. Especially in the bathroom, where water leaks, there are rusty sope holders, etc. Syphones blocked, water wouldn't go down. AC is not working, just smelly — room temperature by 29C.

The bathroom was filthy, especially the shower area — all the glasses were dirty, and the bed smelled in the bathroom. Unfriendly staff, not very informative. The price-performance does not match. It can't be a 4-star hotel: meals are very low quality, not warm, for example, the pasta carbonara. Breakfast nothing for European people.

Three Star at best, or two if I'm being nitpick. Do not book here if you're planning to enjoy the hotel experience. Let me tell you why (in order of descending frustrations): 1. The shower was barely lukewarm even with the cold water knob turned off. No, this isn't due to high occupancy. I didn't even see a single soul on their breakfast restaurant. Their water heaters just plain sucks. 2. Bathroom had a bit of a sewage smell from the drainage. 3. The cloth hangers were non-removable and very tall (even for my height 178cm). Most reputable four and five star hotels don't do that. Only cheapskate hotels in bad neighbourhoods do. 4. Literally no place to put down luggage. It was as if the bedroom had a missing furniture. I had to put mine on top of the safety lock box because I didn't want to bend down on the floor every time I need to reach for my suitcase. 5. The washbasin tap water was like a sprinkler that was on a mission to wet every inch of its surroundings. Most likely because it was partially clogged and never got rectified. 6. Very small and awkward desk / dining table. This is by far the stupidest thing I've ever seen from a hotel that claims to be four star. They had every potential to gain extra profits from higher-margin purchases from room service, and yet they winged it. It's no wonder that this hotel looked miserable and hopeless, and just waiting for a buyout. 7. The tiles on the shower were in a pretty sad condition. 8. There were spots and shelves in the bathroom and bedroom that seemed like it hadn't been wiped for a long time. 9. Housekeeping and reception staff looked hopeless. Perhaps their pay is really low. I literally didn't allow housekeeping to make my room for the entire 3 nights that I was in because I was afraid of them doing their job half-heartedly. And to be honest, I felt bad for them.—. Some redeeming qualities that made my 3 nights stay bearable: 1. Bedsheet was nice and clean white. Nice pillows. 2. Strategic location. 3. I only came to the hotel for a good night sleep, and a good night sleep I had (if you could ignore the frustrations) — Suggestions from my balinese friends in Sanur: - Don't book this hotel unless you have a very strong reason to. This hotel only looks good on the outside and on photos. - Go look for old five star hotels/villas. They're usually in a much better condition and the price tag difference is marginal.

The location was great. The food selection was very limited, considering the number of stars this hotel currently has. The parking spot is very limited, do not park car here. The valet lost my car key and it was only a rented car. So horrible. My room was very noisy as I was given a room next to the elevator. Not sure if they disregarded my requests on the booking form. Not gonna return.
