A really really great place. The manager is the sister of the owner, she is a very sweet person, we had long and nice talk with her, she told us about Philippine culture. She even gave us discount for kayaking. Be warned that the neighborhood has roosters, and they will definitely wake you up in the early morning (starting from 4am), it's great if you want to see sunrise but take Earplug in case. We got used to it quite quickly. The Hotel itself is huge and very nicely designed, the rooms are great and fresh, no need for A/C. We took a massage, it was very nice. Breakfast is OK. To go to El Nido proper it is a 5 min and 50 pesos ride by tricycle (you can get one at any time easily). Overall I definitely recommend the place, it is perfect if you want an hotel a bit far from the bar and crowded area, in a more peaceful area.

The room is good if you are completely desperate. The room is not what is advertised on the website and we where taken down a dark and dirty allyway. The sea view? Forget it unless you go for breakfast where if you ask for one of the eggs or pancakes that are advertised its a big effort for them. Lots of eye rolling from all the staff if you need even a sheet for the bed its the least i would expect for £18 a night. Over all, one of the worst stays ive had in 4 months travelling. I would list everything as im traveling to port Barton (350 if you go to the bus station not 600 like they advertise) but its not worth losing more wasted time. Just avoid.

The room we stayed in is about 2 mins walk from their main building which we didn't expect. Their restaurant is directly in front of the beach so that was good.

The stuff was really kind but the cleanliness, the comfort and the price were not really balanced. The price of the room was really high for the room you get in exchange..

My first room was not the best one, really. It was quite eerie and it wasn't so comfortable. I had to go to the reception and got a room change- I got upgraded to another room. It was okay. I stayed for 4 nights and some nights there were some bugs or some sort of animal under the wall- it was scary! I won't stay again- breakfast buffet but it wasn't worth it. Also, only the reception has internet and because the walls are made of bamboo and wood- it was quite hard to get a cellular coverage. I had to go outside and it was not good- mosquitoes.

Extremely noisy due to proximity to road, hotel construction, many dogs and roosters. The worst part was the RATS - heard them squeaking below the floorboards as I went to bed. In the morning I found they had chewed through several clothing items and pooped in my bags. I had put some snacks high up on a shelf and they got to them too. Rats.

It is better to pay more and stay in another resort. The walls of the rooms are paper-thin and noises from outside can be heard clearly. We stayed in Island Front II for 4 days and our room was not cleaned once during that time. On day 3 I took our used towels to reception to exchange them for clean ones. I also asked for a plastic bag to relieve the overflowing trashcan in our bathroom. We had no not water for the first 3 days and our sink became blocked after day 2. Albeit the property is older than others in the areas, there is truely no excuse for such poor standards. Part of the property is also under construction and there were building materials loose underfoot along the route to our room. Lack of lighting in the vicinity made this unsafe. Until the proprietors of this hotel up their standards I would not recommend anyone to stay there.

Place is really bad, staffs are not helpful, the room and toilet sucks. It is the place only to crash for a night only if you have a flight to catch next day and you don't wanna spend your night in airport or more money.

The hotel is named Island Front II here but when you get to El Nido, it's Island Front. My tricycle kept looking for an Island Front II. There is no Wifi in the room and only in reception if you are lucky to connect. I only connected for a few minutes. You get what you paid for. I also checked out a day earlier and they do not give refunds. The staff also overcharged me of P300 for a shuttle van from El Nido to Port Barton. I called the hotel and spoke with "Ling Ling" and she said it was the person that booked my reservation over the phone with the company that overcharged me and not them. She said otherwise I could have booked in the companies in the town but I was the only person that paid P700 in the shuttle van after speaking with the other tourists that paid P500 and P600. I should have known better since it only costs P600 from Puerto Princesa to El Nido but Ling Ling assured me that the road was really bumpy heading to Port Barton and that's why the price is more expensive than from Puerto Princesa. She lied because it was not as bumpy at all and if anything, the road was much better. So, I assume she was that one that ripped me off P300. Booking my transportation from my hotel I thought was safe since I never thought they would rip me off. I have been booking my transfers and transports through hotels and no one has ripped me off. This is the first time and I have travelled all over the world. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It's Island Front in the first place, not Island Front II. My tricycle was looking for the latter and there wasn't. No wifi in the room which wasn't stated in Expedia, wifi only in the lobby but that never worked, maybe only connected for a few mins. You get what you pay for obviously. Then I had my shuttle booked.for Port Barton.since my tour was cancelled due to weather. I was charged P700 while a girl in the same can paid P500 and some guys paid P600. And the worst part is I'm Filipino and fluent in Tagalog and another Philippine dialect. I asked Island Front and they said the person that booked my shuttle charged P700 and not them, she said they didn't rip me off and I called the shuttle and they said that's the price and he doesn't know who booked me. I asked the staff, her name was Ling Ling, and of course, typical, no one will admit it, everyone will deny, but it's fine. I checked out a day earlier and couldn't get a refund... I understand hotel's policies but I would never return to El Nido. Very touristy, locals harass you to ride on their tricycles, vendors harass you with their pearls or jewelry or whatever they're selling and guides ask you about tours persistently. You can't even relax at the beach except for Nacpan, never go to Las Cabanas. There was construction 6AM, banging and everything, happened twice. Couldn't sleep I do not recommend this place. I wanted to be away from town, my own room, save money and peace and this place was not it.

The lady working here is the loveliest person. Very kind and happy to help with whatever it may be. They also arrange island hopping tours from the hotel which is less crowded than taking one from the main beach. The room was cheap however, the room I stayed in had bedbugs. Didn't realise till two days later as I thought it was mosquito bites. There's no net provided over the bed. I didn't stay in the main building but was led to a building a few doors down through a dark alley way. As a solo traveler I didn't feel safe here. There's also construction work going on next door but it might be difficult to escape this wherever you go in El Nido. Brekkie buffe is Philippino food only, eg fish and rice.

Very cheap if you book daily otherwise twice the price for longer bookings, staff ok but gave me a bum steer about no tors going out on one day and there were left me with nothing to do all day Hotel a 50 pesos by tricycle from town, not close to the action breakfast free and ok, water not hot in shower and wouldn't drain properly in my bathroom Good cable television I came at bad time of year rainy season but imagine it would be more costly in high season beers overpriced shop over the road

I loved the ambience of the hotel. I was not in the main part but just a two minute walk away fro the breakfast room, meeting centre and reception. My room was clean d daily if I wanted and toiletries were replenished each time my room was cleaned. I had no AC but with the window open and the fan operating it was very pleasant. Great value for the low price I paid and a great breakfast was included.

We were put into a room at the front of the hotel next the main road. The rooms are made from bamboo so we may aswell have not had a wall. We couldnt sleep with the noise of the traffic, the roosters on the roadside awake all night long, trike and people. Ask for a room that is not on the main road. We could hear the woman in the room beside us coughing and the man on the other side snoring. Room was tiny and very hot at there was only a fan (This we knew before we booked as we wanted a cheap place so its not the hotels fault). There was no hot water so cold showers every night. We stayed 6 nights and every morning awakened by the sound of a drill or banging from hotel renovations. We really didnt sleep for the duration of our stay. The wifi only works in the reception area and it is very poor at the best of times. The staff are lovely and really helpful and the free breakfast is gorgeous. The location is ideal, right on the beach. Just to note, there is only one ATM in El Nido and it was not working when we were there. Take enough money with you.

Very bad place ! From the check in the problems with them started. We received the wrong room, then they moved us twice. The rooms are super small, very hot, no air conditioning & with mosquitos. I am extremely disappointed from this place. After one night we had to move out. Went to a different hotel ! Will not recommend to go there at all !

We stayed at Island front ll and it was not worth what it cost. The rooms were tiny and the walls were so thin you could hear way too much of who was beside you. They gave us old raggedy towels where one was labeled "kitchen". The bathroom had no hot water and no shower head. The internet wifi was only available in the lobby but it kicked you off right away and was way too slow. The breakfast area had a nice view of the ocean and the front desk was helpful overall. This hotel should be giving hostel prices, not hotel prices. It is always from downtown, about a 30-40 min walk.
