Our stay was great! The reservation officer and receptionist gave us a good welcoming. Hotels.com was charging us so much more for rebooking but when I called and emailed the hotel, they gladly waived the fees being a local resident and Christmas spirit. They were kind enough to free us of extra charges amounting to P1,699.00 for rebooking. Thanks to Ms. MARY of Reservation Dept. of North Pointe Residences who made sure we are updated with infos and confirmations of our stay The hotel is nice and clean and perfectly located near a Shopping Mall

If you are looking for a like new decor and a lot of amenities you probably will be disappointed. If you are looking for affordable and clean and want to experience the true Filipino working class non tourist trap crap you should love it. We enjoyed eating at the local street vendors immensely. Fresh coconut milk anyone??? Every one smiles and are very accommodating. We will surely return.

Your Travel Guide to Quezon City as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Quezon City from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For travelers coming from other parts of the Philippines, flying into Metro Manila is the most efficient option. Major airlines operate frequent flights to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from various provincial capitals. Fares can range from PHP 2,000 to PHP 6,000 or more, depending on the origin city, airline, and booking time. From NAIA, you can take a taxi, ride-sharing service, or airport bus to reach Quezon City, a journey that typically takes 45 minutes to over an hour, depending on traffic conditions. Consider using the book flight feature on Traveloka to find the best deals.

If you are traveling from nearby provinces, bus travel is a common and economical choice. Numerous bus terminals in Metro Manila serve routes from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. For instance, buses from Northern Luzon typically arrive at terminals in Cubao or Pasay. Fares can range from PHP 500 to PHP 1,500, with travel times varying significantly based on distance. From these terminals, you can easily connect to Quezon City via jeepney, bus, or taxi.

Driving to Quezon City is also an option for those coming from accessible regions in Luzon. Major expressways like the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) connect to Metro Manila. Toll fees can add up, typically ranging from PHP 300 to PHP 600 for a round trip, depending on your starting point and route. Navigating Metro Manila traffic requires patience, but GPS navigation apps can greatly assist in finding the most direct routes to your destination.

Best Time to Visit Quezon City

Quezon City, like much of Metro Manila, experiences a tropical climate with two main seasons: the dry season and the wet season. The dry season, typically from November to April, offers the most pleasant weather for exploring. Temperatures are warm, and rainfall is less frequent, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing. This period, especially from December to February, is considered the cooler part of the dry season, offering slightly more comfortable temperatures.

The wet season runs from May to October, characterized by higher humidity and frequent, often heavy, rainfall. While this period can bring occasional typhoons, it also means fewer crowds and potentially lower accommodation prices. If you plan to visit during the wet season, it's advisable to pack an umbrella and rain gear, and to be flexible with your itinerary as heavy downpours can sometimes disrupt travel plans. For a balance of good weather and manageable crowds, the shoulder months of November and April can be excellent choices.

Food and Dining Near Quezon City — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

Filipino cuisine is a delightful exploration of flavors, and Quezon City offers ample opportunities to savor its best. A must-try is Adobo, the unofficial national dish, typically made with chicken or pork braised in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and peppercorns. Its savory and tangy profile is a true representation of Filipino comfort food. You can find excellent versions in many local eateries and even in more upscale restaurants around the city.

Another iconic dish is Sinigang, a sour and savory soup, usually made with tamarind broth and a choice of meat like pork, beef, or fish, along with various vegetables. The sourness is invigorating and a perfect contrast to the richness of other dishes. For a taste of grilled perfection, Lechon Kawali, deep-fried crispy pork belly, is a crowd-pleaser, offering a satisfying crunch with every bite. Its rich, savory flavor makes it a popular choice for celebrations and everyday meals alike.

For those seeking a unique culinary adventure, Kare-Kare is a rich stew made with oxtail, tripe, and vegetables in a thick, savory peanut sauce, traditionally served with bagoong (fermented shrimp paste). The combination of the creamy peanut sauce and the tender meat is a distinctive Filipino delicacy. You can find these dishes and more at local carinderias (small eateries) and established restaurants throughout Quezon City, offering authentic tastes of the Philippines.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Quezon City

Filipino culture is known for its warmth and hospitality. When interacting with locals, a polite demeanor and a smile go a long way. It's customary to use "po" and "opo" when speaking to elders or those in authority as a sign of respect. While generally a safe city, it's always wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas. Keep your valuables secure and avoid displaying expensive items openly.

For emergencies, the national emergency hotline is 911. It's also helpful to have the contact numbers of your hotel and any local friends or contacts readily available. When using public transportation like jeepneys or buses, be mindful of your belongings. For ride-sharing services, always verify the vehicle and driver details match the app's information before starting your trip.

To enhance your travel experience in Quezon City, several apps can be very useful. Waze and Google Maps are indispensable for navigation, helping you to avoid traffic and find the best routes. Grab is essential for booking taxis, car rides, and food deliveries, offering convenience and transparent pricing. For communication, WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger are widely used by locals. Having these apps on your smartphone will make navigating the city and staying connected much easier.

It was a dissapointment. for the places I've rented, this is the worst. You need to pay for everything. spoon, plates glass etc. even tissue. The TV doesn't even have netflix or youtube. The balcony is not open. We rented because it was shown in the photo that there's a balcony and the only reason we rentednis we want to watch the fireworks. My god! We are so disspointed plus the room is like an empty space. The room is big but you can only see a bed and a table. NOT AGAIN!

The room is very clean and spacious. Probably the best part is that you can have hot showers and the free breakfast is delivered right in front of your door. The only downside is that their pool isn't available for usage (tho it ' s my bad I wasn't able to check their notice that it isn't available for the meantime due to COVID-19 restrictions. All in all, I enjoyed my stay in Northpointe. A bit pricey but the quality speaks for itself.

To be honest I chose this hotel because I was interested in the pool, but in reality I stayed 3 nights not given access to the pool which is on the 3rd floor. The location is a bit into the alley, and near the Mall trinoma ayala and SM north, the advantage of this hotel is just its spacious rooms, and its friendly and helpful staff. Apart from that I less recommend this hotel. Concepts like the mall but there is no stove or water heater.

I booked a room for my parents for two nights, but they are so disappointed with the staff that they will just stay for a night. Both are PWD and both are senior citizen. They arrived earlier than expected and they understand they are not allowed to check in yet for a couple of hours. My mother asked if she could use the wifi service while waiting. They rudely said no. No hot water, no cabinets to hang your clothes, poor excuse for toiletry, badly kept rooms, rude customer service. My parents were very disappointed. Will not come here again

Customer service : 1. Security guard was busy over his cellphone despite of us asking assistance in where should we park our car. 2. Receptionist unprofessional manners hotel : includes charges should had been included or specified before booking was made, shocks us for paying 1. Parking of p150 (should have provided and should have been free) 2. Requires a “damage deposit” of p500 room pros: 1. Big and spacious 2. Great location (near malls) cons: 1. Dirty room (visible mud dirt in the floor and hair strands) it was obvious that it wasn't cleaned by the housekeeper 2. Bed linens weren't changed we will definitely not stay here again. :(

The room is very big and all staffs are accommodating especially the one in the restaurant. However, they need to add more people in the housekeeping department. We stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights but we were able to have our room cleaned once only because whenever we ask for room make up they are all busy making up other rooms. But overall it was a nice stay for a budget hotel. :)

I love the room. it is massive and clean. however there's a fee for the parking.. it's not free for their hotel guest, otherwise you can park your car outside infront of the hotel.
