After seeing the reviews of other guests, I was a bit scared to bring my family to this staycation. But when I actually checked in/my stay things aren't that bad and actually me and my family quite like this hotel.- Booked 4 rooms for 3d2n.- Check in was seamless fast/efficient just need get everyone's ID and the key is ready. Staff explained to us the details such as free parking/booking of pools limit to 5 guest/- As our rooms got is without breakfast staff explained to us that is $ 10 per person. So we gave it a try for 1D. -When we stepped into our rooms we were quite happy first thing first, room with Singapore flyer view.- Rooms' TV with Netflix! -Rooms are clean and although was a bit old but I must say is big + clean! - Room amenities that they even provide hotel slippers/cotton stick/body lotion!- I must say that for the location/room size and cleanliness is most important definitely I will come back to this hotel again! My experience/stay was definitely a pleasant one. Things are not really that bad from what other guest review la. Maybe different people different expectations. But I find it good. Will definitely be back again soon!

It was worth every cent!!! The hotel’s located right above Outram MRT Station. And there’s so many restaurants within walking distance. You can actually go to Chinatown within 7-10 minutes by strolling slowly. Most importantly, it is only 1 station away from Harborfront if you need to travel through the ferry terminal, and you can go to Changi Airport by traveling from Outram MRT. Best location ever.

Good comfortable stay at Hotel Mono. Location is in the vicinity of a variety of F&B options, not just Chinatown but walking distance from Tg Pagar, Telok Ayer etc. Special shoutout to great customer service from Spencer. The hotel is a budget hotel, with a very small rooms. However, the room was filled with all the amenities we need, there is an electric kettle, toiletries, and spacious beds. We stayed here with 4 grown-ups and 2 kids, and the beds accommodated us very well. The room was also very clean, the AC was cool, and the bathroom/toilet was adequate with a good hot water supply. They even gave us complimentary soda and coffee/tea, and mineral water. Really great. We had a great night staying here.

Hotel booking through Traveloka was a breeze. Easy to use with quick confirmation of the voucher sent within a day. Awesome new year celebration experience at Amara Hotel. The hotel is right beside 100AM mall and many good food places. Check-In was delayed due to late check out from previous guest but it didn't matter as we went for shopping instead while waiting for room to be ready. Got a pleasant surprise with free room upgrade and even a nicer gesture from hotel to send me a complimentary cake for my anniversary. Thank you Amara Hotel and their staff for the hospitality!

More about hotels Chinatown

About

Chinatown is where the old charm of traditional Chinese culture meets the dynamic energy of modern Singapore.

As you wander through the narrow streets lined with colorful shophouses, you'll find yourself immersed in a sensory overload of sights, sounds, and smells. From the aroma of sizzling street food to the rhythmic clang of traditional lion dance performances, Chinatown is a feast for the senses.

Be sure to explore the iconic Chinatown Street Market, where you can haggle for souvenirs, sample local delicacies, and soak up the lively atmosphere. Don't forget to visit the breathtaking Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, a stunning architectural masterpiece that houses a sacred relic of the Buddha.

Whether you're craving mouthwatering dim sum, hunting for unique souvenirs, or simply soaking up the rich tapestry of Chinese culture, Chinatown is a must-visit destination for any traveler in Singapore. So come on down and get ready for an unforgettable adventure in one of Singapore's most vibrant neighborhoods!

How To Get To Chinatown

As a vibrant neighborhood, filled with culture, history, and, of course, amazing food. Getting there is easy, whether you're traveling by MRT, bus, or even on foot.

By MRT:

The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) is the easiest and most convenient way to get around Singapore. To get to Chinatown, hop on the North East Line (NEL) or the Downtown Line (DTL) and alight at Chinatown MRT Station (NE4/DT19). Once you exit the station, you'll find yourself right in the heart of Chinatown.

By Bus:

If you prefer to see the sights above ground, taking a bus is a great option. Multiple bus services ply the area, so depending on where you're coming from, you can catch buses such as 2, 12, 54, 63, 124, 143, 147, 190, 520, and many more. Look out for bus stops around Chinatown Complex or People's Park Complex.

On Foot:

Singapore is a city that's best explored on foot, and getting to Chinatown is no exception. Depending on where you are, a stroll might be the perfect way to take in the sights and sounds of the city. If you're staying in the Marina Bay area, for example, you can take a scenic walk along the Singapore River and cross the Cavenagh Bridge to get to Chinatown.

No matter how you choose to get there, once you arrive, you'll be greeted by the bustling streets, beautiful temples, and the mouthwatering aroma of street food. Chinatown is a true gem of Singapore, and exploring it is an experience you won't soon forget.

Top Things To Do in Chinatown

Singapore's Chinatown is a vibrant and bustling neighborhood that offers a delightful mix of tradition, culture, and mouthwatering cuisine. Here are the top five things you must experience when you visit:

1. Explore Chinatown Street Market

Lose yourself in the maze of stalls selling everything from traditional Chinese goods to souvenirs and knick-knacks. This bustling market is a sensory delight, offering a vibrant atmosphere filled with the aroma of sizzling street food and the chatter of vendors. Take your time to explore the different levels of the temple, including the rooftop garden with its panoramic views of Chinatown.

3. Indulge in Hawker Food

Dive into the rich tapestry of flavors at Chinatown's hawker centers. From steaming bowls of noodles to succulent BBQ skewers and fragrant rice dishes, the options are endless. 4. Take a Heritage Walking Tour

Immerse yourself in the rich history of Chinatown by taking a guided walking tour. A heritage walking tour is the perfect way to learn more about Chinatown's unique culture and heritage.

5. Shop for Traditional Chinese Goods

From intricate handicrafts to beautiful textiles, Chinatown is the perfect place to pick up unique souvenirs and gifts. Browse through the stalls at the Chinatown Street Market or visit one of the many specialty shops selling traditional Chinese goods like tea, herbs, and handicrafts. Whether you're looking for a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry or a beautifully crafted piece of artwork, you're sure to find it in Chinatown.
