The Neka Art Museum was officially inaugurated by Dr. Daoed Joesoef, Minister of Education and Culture, on July 7, 1982. Amidst the Covid-19 outbreak that lasted from early 2020 to the end of 2021, the Neka Art Museum has made significant contributions to improvements. Physical renovations of the old building and the construction of new buildings to enhance permanent exhibitions and hold temporary exhibitions, as well as adding facilities such as Art Workshops, Art Cafes, Art Performances to advance the creative economy. The permanent collection has been rearranged, and a new technology system has been implemented to provide information for each artwork on display, with the aim of facilitating art appreciation.
