Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland National Park are two vast parks adjoined together (Saxon Switzerland National Park in Saxony, Germany, and Bohemian Switzerland National Park in the Czech Republic) which means this tour technically takes you to two different countries in one day. The first stop is the Bastei Bridge, which is located close to where the Neurathen Castle (formerly the largest rock castle in the region) once stood. It’s a medieval-style bridge that overlooks the intricate rock formations of the Bastei and Elbe River, which is one of Central Europe’s major waterways. Go and see Pravcicka Gate, the biggest natural arch in Europe. It’s considered to be the symbol of the whole area, and its sheer size never fails to attract its visitors. Near the entrance, you can find stairs and trails that lead to amazing viewpoints. After a delicious lunch at Penzion na Vyhlidce, take a hike down to Kamenice River Gorge and enjoy a peaceful hike surrounded by giant pine trees, with nothing but the sound of Kamenice River running smoothly. The tour ends with a short walk to Hřensko, a small village that was established in the 15th-century as a trading settlement. If you wish, you can check out its shops and restaurants. Grab a souvenir if you can because you’ll definitely want to remember this amazing tour.
