Tsuruga Castle (Tsurugajo-Castle)
The landmark of Aizuwakamatsu City, and is known as an indestructible castle. During the Boshin War (the last civil war in Japanese history that started from the Battle of Toba Fushimi in 1868), the new government army and the old shogunate army fought here for about a month, making Tsuruga Castle famous as "impregnable castle" . The castle tower was renovated in 2011. Compared with the style of the end of the era, the roof was re-laid with red bricks. It is the only castle tower with a red brick roof in Japan.

Ouchi-juku
In the village, the buildings of the Edo period (equivalent to a post station) have been preserved, and the entire street is a precious historical material. In winter, the snow-covered view of thatched roofs is especially beautiful and attracts many tourists.
