Bicol International Airport (DRP)

Bicol International Airport is the modern replacement airport serving the Bicol region, close to the iconic Mayon Volcano. Compare airlines flying to and from Daraga (DRP) on Traveloka and set a Price Alert to track fares before you book.

Overview of Bicol International Airport

DRP opened for domestic flights in October 2021 on a 200-hectare plateau in Daraga, Albay, around 15 km from Legazpi City and a similar distance from Mayon Volcano. It was built to replace the old Legazpi Airport, which sat much closer to Mayon and suffered frequent disruptions from volcanic ash. The new terminal and runway can handle up to 2 million passengers a year, well above the roughly 660,000 passenger movements recorded in 2023, leaving plenty of room for growth.

Where Bicol International Connects To

DRP's network today is built primarily around domestic Philippine routes. International services have been developing since the airport gained international status, so compare current routes and airlines on Traveloka rather than assuming a specific international connection is available year-round.

Airlines and Hubs

Cebu Pacific, Cebgo and Philippine Airlines operate scheduled services into Bicol, primarily connecting to Manila and other major Philippine cities.

Terminal at DRP

The airport has a modern single terminal built as part of its 2021 development, with an expanded runway able to handle larger aircraft than the old Legazpi Airport ever could.

Getting To and From Legazpi and Daraga

DRP is a short taxi ride from Daraga and around 15 km from central Legazpi. There is no rail link in the region. Confirm transfer arrangements and travel times in advance, especially if heading further afield in Bicol.

Facilities at Bicol International

As a newly built regional airport, DRP offers clean, modern facilities scaled to its size.

  • A contemporary terminal with ample seating.
  • Basic dining and retail options.
  • Free Wi-Fi and traveller information desks.
