We loved our stay at Barcelo for our 20th Anniversary. The location is perfect, nightlife right across the way. The pool and beach just behind the property was perfect for walks, swimming and bars. The food at the resort was excellent and everyone at the resort was nice and helpful. Awesome vibe, drinks and location. Must do the Royal Package which definitely sets it apart evwn further. Full concierge and Royal Club access 24hrs. Tha k you Barcelo, we fell in love with Aruba from the Sin City.

I had a great experience staying on the Royal Level! While the hotel could use some cosmetic updates, the staff truly stood out with their exceptional service. I dined off the resort most of the time to explore a list of local restaurants, but the breakfast at Barcelo was definitely enjoyable!

The bathroom sinks had faucets too short for the sink so as you opened the faucet, water soaked the counter top. Also too difficult to get your hands under the faucet to clean your hands. The food was not good even at the Japanese restaurant, the Royal level restaurant, and common buffet on the property. If you want good cuisine, best to go local. The iron board was a table top board. Making it difficult to iron dresses and long pants. Unusual from most other resorts we’ve booked through Expedia. We were upgraded to Royal level. There were a few enhanced features we weren’t made aware of causing us to nearly miss out on the benefits. Our ceiling fan wasn’t working. We called for maintenance who was unable to repair it. He told us he would have a specialist tend to it. No one showed up and the fan remained nonfunctional. My last gripe is at the common buffet, you have to stand on line to wait to be seated which is ok but most guests did not know this and sat anywhere. The seater asked them to get up only to place them in the adjacent table in the same area. The price is good. The staff was great but we’ve decided we would check out another all inclusive resort when we return to Aruba.

Amazing location, literally on the beach. The staff was very friendly & helpful. The room was ok. The bathroom was ok. The restaurants had good food and easy to make reservations. Buffet had a lot of options.

Overworked staff. Short staffed after new management took over. This was told to us by staff members directly. Don’t know the manager’s name my husband and I complained to, but he just walked away instead of listening. Complained to the front desk and received a little card asking how they could help make our stay better. Maintenance was finally sent to the room 2 days later. My husband and I were getting ready to go out when maintenance came. Because of this they never came back and nothing was fixed our whole stay. Unfortunately, I can’t upload a video showing the safe damage, closet sliding door damage and the sliding door damage along with the difficulty opening and closing to get in and out of the super narrow balcony. The room smelled musty due to the AC system. The pictures show rusty and moldy lamps. Feel bad about staff because they are working hard, while I saw several managers sitting and eating for an hour on separated occasion’s.

My son was not able to go and I called 5 days in advance to cancel, Expedia tried refund and I tried 3 times at the front desk…no credit and nothing but a run around even though cancelled 5 days in advance!

The restaurants for dinner were great. Staff was very friendly Great location. However, rooms were dated, cleanliness is rooms were not up to standards ( sheet had stains, tampons in drawer, Ac did not work well in the connected room) beach was beautiful!

Great location but family had mix experience w/ property. Noise level was high particularly @night. Our rooms were on the left wing. There was a marathon which the starting point was nxt to hotel and playing non stop loud music throughout the middle of night. the room didn’t have any towels! waited over an hour to get towels. The beach/pool area were nice and staff were friendly. Unfortunately they were not equipped with enough towels to accommodate- it was a family trip of 8 people and we had to share towels. As for the staff and their rigid structure. Communication is not their best suit. Prior to arriving at the property I tried contacting to let them know that we had a total of 2rooms reserved and that an extra family member decided to join the trip, so I wanted to confirm if I can purchase the all-inclusive ticket for this member and that we can arrange the room accommodation between us. And they made it so difficult because of this policy about not allowing 4 people in a room - mind you we had small children that were able to fit comfortably in a bed which would have allowed an adult to have their own bed. But no, we were forced to book a separate room right on the spot! Complete money grab! While they tried to make up for forcing us to book another room, they gave us an “upgrade” which so happened to be on the 5th floor of the left wing where it was noisy

Our 1st time in Aruba was great but Barcelo was just okay. Kindly greeted in the lobby w/ drinks and easy check in. 1st room we were hit w/ humid moldy air so strong we could barely breathe to notice black mold on ceilings, walls, in closet, shower and the fridge. I called front desk stating we can’t stay there. They told me they do not have any extra rooms & they would do a thorough clean while we stepped out. Then offered an upgrade room at a charge of $132 a night per person. One of the managers, Servin, came up to speak in person & the moment we opened the door he agreed we couldn’t stay in the room & he needed to take it off the listings. He put us in a temporary room for 1 night then gave us an equal room to what we booked for the remainder of our stay. The 2nd & 3rd rooms were much cleaner, yet still some detected spots of black mold in the ceiling, but at least we could breathe. We ended up getting a dinner reservation at the prime member’s restaurant. Locations great w/ shopping & restaurants right across the street. Service/staff were great. Drinks great. Food was mediocre on the resort but much better on the strip outside. The hibachi restaurant is the only one worth going to on the resort. I’ll be back to Aruba but not at Barcelo.

There was no mention of any VIP nobody even mentioned an upgrade there was no comment about any bottle of any welcome drink a lot of rooms things needed to be fixed other than that what you promised never even mentioned

Needs to be updated inside. Can only make 3 reservations for dinner on a week stay then you can only eat at the buffet. Food all around is horrible. Service and pool area was good. Housekeeping came in my room 3 times even though I had do not disturb on my door.
