More about hotels in Barkly
Choose your overnight stop in the Barkly
The Barkly covers a broad part of the Northern Territory, so choose accommodation along your route. Tennant Creek, Barkly Homestead and Renner Springs are separate stopovers. Check the property's actual location before booking; a regional search result should not be treated as a town-centre address.
Barkly Homestead on the Barkly Highway
Barkly Homestead is at the junction of the Barkly and Tablelands highways, between Tennant Creek and Camooweal. Standard motel rooms and cabins have a queen and single bed; family versions have a queen and two singles. A solo cabin has one single bed. All have an ensuite, air-conditioning and a bar fridge, but no cooking facilities. Motel rooms and single cabins also have no microwave.
Book a designated pet-friendly queen cabin if travelling with a pet. For camping, powered and unpowered sites share bathrooms, a camp kitchen and laundry. Campsites operate on a first-come basis without advance reservations; rooms and cabins can be booked ahead.
Renner Springs on the Stuart Highway
Renner Springs Desert Inn is north of Tennant Creek on the Stuart Highway. Its budget rooms sleep two in separate single beds and have an ensuite, TV, air-conditioning and tea-and-coffee facilities. There are also queen-only rooms for two and motel categories for up to four. Confirm the larger room's bed arrangement when reserving.
Accommodation for a specific community visit
For a visit to Alpurrurulam or Ampilatwatja, Barkly Regional Council lists community visitor accommodation with separate booking arrangements. Contact the relevant accommodation team about your purpose, dates and arrival. These are community-specific stays, separate from the highway roadhouses and Tennant Creek's town accommodation.
