Choose your overnight location before comparing rooms in the Red Centre. A stay at Kings Canyon and a stop at Erldunda fit different stages of a road trip; neither is a hotel in central Alice Springs.

Rooms at Kings Canyon

Discovery Resorts – Kings Canyon is on Luritja Road at Petermann. Its Standard Room – 2 Queens sleeps four and has a private bathroom, balcony, air conditioning, fridge and tea and coffee facilities. It can suit travellers who want to share one room while keeping their own bathroom.

The Budget Lodge Room – 1 Double Bed sleeps two and uses communal bathrooms and kitchens. A private sleeping room in this category does not come with an ensuite. Compare the named room type carefully if bathroom privacy is important.

A motel stop at Erldunda

Erldunda Roadhouse, also known as Erldunda Desert Oaks Resort, is at the junction of the Stuart and Lasseter Highways. Its motel accommodation includes queen, twin, triple and family rooms with ensuites, air conditioning, a bar fridge and tea and coffee facilities.

There is a restaurant, bar and takeaway on site. This is a highway-junction stop; choose it according to your driving itinerary rather than treating it as accommodation at Kings Canyon or Uluru itself.
