Centrally located so was close to everything we wanted. Well maintained, we had daily cleaning service, bed was made up, fresh towels and supplies always topped up. The staff at the front desk were exceptionally helpful and welcoming.

Very little to like. I concur with the other low ratings going back several years.
We moved from a standard to a "premium" room because the room was dusty. The ironing board cover should have been replaced due to it's sad state of wear. You would not use it, for example, to iron anything with light colours. Bathroom sink plug was dirty. Asked for it to be changed. It wasn't.
The hotel information on Wotif and other booking sites is misleading. There is no bar, gym, no standard check in desk,as shown in photos. Plenty of restaurants nearby, but not at the hotel. City Views?? What of?
Don't stay on any floor with room number ending in 01, as you will be woken every night by the night club in Nuttall Place until 2.30AM. I had earplugs in and was still woken up.
The hotel management and staff know all about this going back several years.
Complaints on the dull, drab decor were supposedly been addressed by refurbishment years ago. No sign of that happening.
$29 a day for car parking! Tiny bays, so not easy to manoeuvre . We would not risk the hire car being damaged by parking on the street where the hotel entrance is located. Broken glass in parking bays due to anti-social behavior.
The replies from Rydges manager all follow the same standard apology guff.

There is more chance of plaiting fog than me staying at this or any other Rydges Hotel.

Hotel is dull, drab, dated, impersonal, & characterless. Good CBD location & excellent WiFi. Kept awake until 01:30 on Friday & Saturday nights due to very noisy nearby disco bar.

Great hotel close to the centre of Darwin. Be warned, the informaton about wifi is misleading. Certain parts of the hotel and some rooms will not have access to wifi. I was only on the 2nd floor and i couldn’t use the free wifi.

Internet wasn't great. Pool toilets were out of use. Staff helpful. Car parking area had rubbish not dealt with for length of my stay. Had to have the blanket in my room replaced as it smelt bad. Otherwise it was convenient and quiet.

Stayed three nights, room 705, on the first night it seemed in room 706 a party was taking place music and foul language shouting etc, in the morning we requested a room change, the receptionist apologised, and said the occupants of 706 had checked out, I suggested they check the room out for damages

I was a bit disappointed that the property did not live up to the photos advertised. Very limited supplies in the room (the most basic version of instant coffee) and no cold water (a necessity in Darwin!) The jug that was supplied did not fit under the tap so we couldn’t even do it ourselves.

It was conveniently located in the centre of Darwin with easy access to shops and restaurants the waterfront is an easy walk to get too. No real services at the hotel.
