Sundown Villas

The villa was spacious and looked nice from the outside. Inside the spa bath was dirty with dirt marks and the shower gel and shampoo dispenser was empty. We asked reception to clean the spa bath and fill the dispenser and they just gave me mini shampoo bottles etc. They said as for cleaning depends if staff are available. I asked for a hairdryer they said its been stolen. We requested a late checkout and lady demanded us to be out on time as they had big group coming to stay. The next day they made the bed but left the rubbish and provided no fresh towels we had to collect them There were 2 guys staying at villa next door who chucked meat in our bins so bin guy had to take away bin he said he almost vomited. On the last day there were flys in the villa plus cockroach and bugs in spa bath. The lady also advised the outdoor pool was under maintenance and closed so we couldnt use the pool and the bistro was closed. The accomodation was very far from shops and tourist atrraction. It seemed the staff only wanted to do bare minimum. The accomodation was average and run down. On the morning of our late checkout the reception called me at 10.30am as they forgot we had requested late checkout. I felt they were implying us to hurry and leave. We didnt feel welcomed. I was really disapointed! It was a clear case of false advertising and i dont recommend staying here for the price. The customer service was appalling and one lady was rolling her eyes at reception.

Located in a far flung corner of South Canberra without any particular charm, it felt like we were the only people there, aside from the permanent residents in the static caravans. Hugely disappointed by the fact the pool had been drained - this was the reason we had booked here. The room appeared clean, was very basic, but the bed was comfortable and the shower very powerful.

I thought Sundown Villas was way out from everything. But not so. Everything is within easy drive. Very pleasant stay. Will stay again

Freshly renovated bathroom with hot shower and good pressure. Basic kitchen with everything we needed. Quiet place with picnic table near our room. Parking a few steps from our room but this made it peaceful.

Only redeeming quality for us was the pool area. Kids had fun. Room smelt, mould in shower, bed sheets not clean, plates not clean

Look, this is basic accommodation at a very reasonable price, but it is clean and spacious with all the basics. It's away from everything, so be prepared to drive to get to anything. On the plus side, it is quiet and it is the way!

This place is well positioned for a trip to Canberra. We spent over a week here, visiting family and friends, and found our 2 bdr villa a very comfortable home away from home. The villa was stocked well enough for the budget price and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Clean Room,lots of things on site

Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable. It is such a great facility, but unfortunately could do with a bit of love. Good for budget accommodation.

Clean & tidy.A little outdated.However the $ was right.

The best word I could choose for this accommodation is "sufficient". It's not got amazing rooms or facilities, infact to be honest they're pretty average. What it does have is units with some aircon (average but working), a tv, a little kitchenette and beds. I stayed for 3 weeks and it was sufficient for my needs. This was helped by the fact that hands down it's the most affordable like-for-like accommodation anywhere in the ACT. Also in its favour is the staff are more than happy to help with things. Unfortunately the hospitality cleaning crew were hard to find but the front office were willing to do something when we needed a hand. Great views of the sky at night because it's dark given the absence of anyone actually living anywhere near it, unless you count the prison down the road. Also no-one in Canberra actually knows where Symonston is so you probably won't get unexpected visitors. Anyway, it's sufficient for a stay if you are looking for somewhere not amazing but affordable and... sufficient.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The place was comfortable, clean, and well equipped, and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. I would happily stay here again.

Very spacious room for the price, good for friends travelling together. The presence of a desk in addition to the table/couch was very useful for our group. Fridge left something to be desired—the bar-fridge style open freezer froze the milk our friend brought for his coffee/cereal even when it was in the door. The sink pipes in our bathroom seemed to be leaking a little, but not enough to be a concern so we just put down the bathmat and didn't worry about it. Only real problem—smoking seems to be allowed in outdoor areas, which is a big problem if you want to leave your window open for fresh air (especially in the bedroom where there's no air con). Seems like a weird choice for a place with so many families staying :\

Water pressure was amazing, the bed was hard as a rock, and the wifi was almost non existant.

Room was clean and nice. Linen, towels and soaps, coffee supplied very good. Beds were good to sleep in. Sadly some crockey and cultery where missing or in short supply. Perhaps taken by previous occupiers The Airconditioner is probably in need of a service as it worked but the air was not cold and would not response to the remote.

I stayed in this room on rent and had a very good experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The place was quiet and well maintained. Everything I needed was available, and the environment was safe and pleasant. The owner was helpful and cooperative. Overall, it was a good stay and I would recommend this place to others."
