Hotel Krone 1512

Staff were very friendly, the location is amazing, the room very comfortable, spacious, and clean. They provided a discount for the parking garage nearby. We loved it!

The hotel is in a fantastic location right in the centre of Salzburg, very accessible and easy to use.

Staff was lovely! Location is great. But there are some distinct minuses that I share here because I would want to know them myself. a) Some rooms are great, some are not. Our room was tiny, cleaved-off from another room, and had uneven toe-stubbing floors (a sharp threshold from one section to another where the room had been created). The room had not enough space to navigate around the bed without bumping into the wall-mounted TV--extremely awkward. (Also very old carpet, which can never feel truly clean.) The bathroom was poor design with a tiny shower "stall" (folding glass doors hinged to the wall) which flooded the whole bathroom floor. I'm a fan of old buildings with character, but we paid something like 270 Euros for that room, which is far too much. For a hostel price, this room would be fine - but if I am going to pay 270 Euro, I want to be comfortable. Our second room was clean, renovated, and nicer. b) Another consideration is noise; we were awoken at 2-3am by glass bottles being dumped/sorted in the recycling in the courtyard, likely by the bar downstairs.The bar downstairs also is fairly loud so if you were to have a room facing the street, you'd be in for a noise surprise. The staff was really lovely. The cleaning lady works very hard and is kind, and the blond-haired woman at the front desk was also extremely nice. So if you stay here, I'd say to make sure you know which room you will be getting. That could make all the difference. Happy travels!

Fantastic place

Great location and good value compared to other hotels in area. We did not have breakfast included with booking but ate there one morning and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We'd live in Hotel Krone if we were able! Perfect location and very laid back and friendly atmosphere!

Though the room was small it was the right size for a solo traveler. I didn't eat breakfast. So I cannot comment on that. The only negativity I have is there was no one at the lobby when I arrived after 9pm. There was a sign that said to register to please enter through the bar. The bar was crowded. I had a piece of luggage and a backpack. It was impossible to do that. The bartender who turned out to be the hotel guest reception. Saw me and signal me to go back to the lobby. I did and waited about 10 more minutes before he gave me the forms to fill out. I was not happy with that. Hotel management should take care of that issue. Otherwise, I was happy with the location of the hotel.

The general manager Nikolai was over-the-top friendly and always amenable to helping us and make sure we had what we needed. Perfect boutique motel right in the middle of the old area, easily walkable wherever you wanted to go. Highly recommend this hotel!

Hotel was on a pretty road. Staff were nice. Hotel overall was good. Good location to Alstadt (Old Town) and a few other sights. I would definitely consider staying here again, if ever back in Salzburg.

Krone 1512 was a great place to stay. The location is excellent, about a 10 minute walk to the two centres of tourism - the Mirabell gardens and the Old Town. The room was spacious and clean, staff were responsive to our questions, pricing was good. I highly recommend this property.

This property was great for us ! It is a bit unusual but we found it charming . Our room was huge which was a nice surprise with a new bathroom and all very clean . This is an old building so some creaks etc . The church bells form the street added to the charm for us and the double windows shut out most unwanted noise . Breakfast was very good and service from All staff was excellent. Great location to see the city and so many options for food and shopping . Be aware that on Sunday’s many things are closed .

This is a very nice boutique hotel, run by a couple. The owners are extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. The location is just absolutely perfect on a cobblestone street with restaurants and shopping around. Public transportation is also very inconvenient. What a great boutique hotel run by some very friendly people.

Good location, quiet and clean. On the less crowded side of town yet easy to walk everywhere.

This is the 12th hotel we have stayed in during our alpine tour. It is our least favourite. While perfectly situated within walking distance of everything we hoped to see, the hotel itself was a big disappointment. Our room had cracked walls and needed to be painted. The radiator, located beside the bathroom sink was full of dust and cobwebs. The reception is only open until 3pm. We were given a sheet with information about the hotel. It included advice on giving high ratings in our review and tipping. In poor taste I thought. The convenience of its location was the only thing we appreciated.
