It’s quirky, it’s fun, it’s always spotlessly clean, it has a fantastic breakfast, and it’s in a great location. Far enough to be away from the hustle of the city, but close enough to be easily walkable for drinks and dinner, the hotel is in a perfect location. In twenty minutes you can walk to Leopold district and be in the EU area with thirty minutes. The botanical gardens are just next door, so you can take your morning coffee there and enjoy some fresh air. The metro is close by, and there is a Carrefour convenience store opposite that sells nearly everything you might need. Don’t miss the waffle station, or the secret room with the sweets and selfie chair! The rooms are a great size and the bed and linen are high quality. Most importantly, the shower is powerful and the water always hot! I love the coffee machine in the room - and I had a handwritten welcome note from Cristina to welcome me. Don’t change your towels and you get a free drink in the bar! Just don’t forget to leave there’s on your door by midnight! Brussels Bloom is like being on the film set of Alice in Wonderland, and is my go-to location to stay in the city. If you want a break from the corporate sterility of the hotels in the city, but still enjoy exceptional service, then this is the hotel for you.

Oh man, where to start. The room was super noisy. Sirens going off every 5 minutes. The AC did not work. Th bathroom is painted black so good luck getting ready. There is no carpet or tilled floor. Just a concrete floor that says do not cross thin line, which is perfect because it feels like a crime scene in the part of town it’s in and with all the sirens going off. It was stuffy, had a funny smell, and the phone did not work. They transferred me to another room per my request. There was no difference. I stayed one of the two nights I had reserved because I woke up with bites on my leg. They finally transferred me to another hotel and claimed they did not have bedbugs there and insinuated that they must have came in with me unbelievable. Never again.

The hotel is lovely, the rooms are a great size and I really enjoyed the quirky decor, the bed is amazingly comfortable and HUGE. There isn’t much in the local area immediately outside of the hotel, but the tram / metro is very close plus it’s 15-20 minutes to Grand Place by foot anyway. The only downside, and it is a big downside, is that it’s very noisy. Perhaps this is just if you’ve got a room on the front of the hotel like we did. I’m not usually one to mind a bit of a city noise, but my goodness between the tram honking every 15 minutes or so up until 1am and the fact that the hospital and police stations are around the corner, so there’s many sirens on and off throughout the night, it really quite difficult to fall asleep / stay asleep. It’s such a shame as otherwise this hotel is a 10/10 - strongly recommend you bring some ear plugs with you!

Upon our arrival on Saturday at 2:30 PM, neither of the two room key cards was functioning. A technician was supposed to intervene within 5 minutes… but never came despite our repeated follow-ups on Saturday afternoon, in the evening, and again on Sunday morning. The most incomprehensible part is the total lack of follow-up: no one is actually taking ownership of the problem, and it is consistently up to us to chase for updates. Throughout the entire stay, we have been dependent on reception to open our room, repeatedly waiting in front of the door. It has been impossible to move around freely or to properly enjoy the hotel’s facilities. For an establishment of this standing, this is unacceptable. The commercial gesture offered (parking OR breakfast) is highly insufficient, especially as we were told this was because we booked via Hotels.com with a discount. A promotion in no way justifies degraded service. Our weekend has clearly been impacted. We expected a much higher level of service.
