O Lux é um Hotel Antigo, eu diria "vintage". Tem alguns pontos a melhorar, mas são coisas que não me impedem de ficar lá, como colocar toalhas mais novas, revisar sempre se não falta alguma coisa no quarto, como controle remoto ou cobertas. Eu já estive três vezes lá, já fiz amizade com a equipe, é o ponto alto do Hotel, destaque para a equipe do café da manhã, e também pro Jal, Eric e Francisco. Eu gosto de ficar lá pq geralmente consigo descansar bem, não pega barulho dos andares de cima e pega pouco barulho do corredor. Não pega tanto barulho da rua também.

I spent two weeks at this hotel and found that it exceeded my expectations. It was clean and very well run. Breakfast was good with a fair range of choice both hot and cold. As for some past comments about the personal safety in that area, I cannot say that at any time did I feel threatened or unsure about moving about town day or night. The hotel is easy walking distance to all necessary things such as metro rail system, centre of the city, banks and tourist info centre. I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone who does not want to pay a fortune but gets looked after. There may be some people that do not like noisy air conditioners, but myself personally, I think they are great for blocking out any unwanted street noise.

the staff at this hotel were welcoming and friendly, reception, cleaners and breakfast. the wifi worked ok. plenty for breakfast and replenished with speed. the location is excellent near a metro and you can walk to quite a few places. the bathroom was clean but the floor in the room was quite dirty when i arrived. the two areas not so great was no tea provided at breakfast and maintenance could be better especially if furniture is damaged it should be repaired or removed from the room, some bed sheets had holes in them and the door handle was loose.

Personnel very friendly, but difficult to communicate with them when you have a question or need some help. In reception personnel speak mostly only Portuguese - difficult for visitors from abroad.
