Holiday Inn COLCHESTER, an IHG Hotel

Quiet at night. No noise in corridors. Shower good pressure. Sorry to say pillow too hard and bed too soft.A lot of glasses and plates left in corridors outside doors for many hours.

Stayed overnight to attend a family party. Room was good and clean, food was good both for lunch and breakfast.

Really friendly staff, lots of parking available, clean rooms, great swimming pool and changing facilities. Only let down was the lack of veggie option in the restaurant. The children’s menu was super limited. Adult men’s was better. You have it all listed on the menu but didn’t have any in stock so I had two hungry children. Didn’t even do pizza that night. Bit of a shame.

Quick check in and very helpful, professional staff. The restaurant serves great food and the service is impeccable! Would highly recommend HI Colchester, Abbotts Lane.

Very nice and quiet hotel with lovely and friendly staff. We enjoyed the nice temperature swimming pool and the outside playing area.

The manager on the front desk was very welcoming and friendly.

Dirty tissue in room when arrived. Rip in duvet cover. Premium room extras such as water/soft drinks/ crisps etc only fully replenished on 2 of the 8 days of stay. Hotel starting to look a bit tired in corridor areas. Reception staff very friendly and willing to assist.

Everything was excellent apart from the sofa bed. Agony to sleep on. In fact didn’t sleep at all, spring sticking into my ribs all night even left marks on my skin

Was a really nice place to stay to meet family and spend a pleasant evening together. Facilities in the hotel are very good and the breakfast was wonderful. Will certainly return

First visit to this hotel. Problems at check-in. But thanks to a helpful member of staff she got it sorted. Room was clean and everything you need for a one night stay. Quiet hotel even though it was busy. Breakfast was good. Plenty of staff clearing tables and topping up food stations. Would recommend this hotel and definitely return when visiting family.

Great place to stay for business or pleasure. I would highly recommend!

Check in was half an hour late, then the bedding for the one bed had no covers on them so we had to go and fetch it from reception and only 1 towel in the room so again had to go and get one. There is a restaurant downstairs and some of the extremely drunk guests (men who were swearing and making inappropriate sexual comments towards some of the younger girls in the hotel ) were hanging around the lower rooms.
