One night stay so a small double allocated. Newly refurbished - very nicely done. Breakfast o.k. but evening meal in the pub was pricey, small portions and not particularly well cooked or presented! All 4 of us felt the same and given 2 were locals. not impressed. Sorry.

I’d had a particularly long day , early start at 3:30 am got to the hotel late in what I believe was the last room wanting an early night . To find out my room was above the bar area ( which would normally be fine) but on this occasion they was having an open mic night of which was not advertised on hotels.com resulting in not being able to hear myself think in my room , I know I sound like a killjoy and it really did sound like a good night but just didn’t need it after such a long day

The room was very clean and very quaint, but also very quiet. Room five has a lovely bathroom the only thing that very slightly let it down was the shower control isn't thermostatic so slight pressure variances from other rooms do cause the odd cold shock moment. Food is good and there's an interesting choice of beers.
