Lovely place to stay, amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Room was clean and comfortable. The lady on reception was lovely and very helpful. Looking forward to my next stay!

Quaint while at the same time quite large, very good bar and kitchen food good.i thought the staff could have had a bit more personality but they were efficient

Stayed for 2 nights,rooms were spotless,good service on that whole. The only downside was that when someone was ordering food at the bar,the queue for drinks started to build up .unfortunately there was not enough staff behind the bar

Excellent stay & good value for money

We have visited and stayed at the Jamaica Inn a number of times over the years but unfortunately this time we were left a bit disappointed. Not with the place or most of the staff themselves but with the entitlement of other visitors and patrons who bring their dogs into the establishment. Nearly all the dog owners were either having their dogs sitting where people need to walk, on long leads so they can roam or not on leads at all so they can roam anywhere. One even had her dog sitting on the seat where other people will then sit. In my opinion staff should keep these dog owners in check as it will likely lead to someone tripping up or getting tripped up by these animals which will end up with serious injury to a person. No dog should be allowed to sit in a seat at a table. One member of staff who was serving food was also petting one dog. The place is nice to visit but for me I’m not in a rush to come back if the place is going to be overrun by inconsiderate dogs owners and staff who are happy to tolerate it.

Very expensive room. Comfy bed. Accessible room allocated with large wet room but we did not expect or need this. Pleasant staff and excellent breakfast. Good parking. Interesting building.

Simply can’t fault it!

The stay was lovely. Comfortable room, friendly staff, spotlessly clean. Wifi is very weak and intermittent which made working in my room challenging. The biggest disappointment by far was the restaurant. Food was not as advertised, poor quality and had I not been charging it to expenses, I absolutely would have sent it back. When I showed polite but obvious disappointment to the waiter, he offered no apology or alternative. I would consider staying at the hotel again but until the kitchen has an overhaul, won't be eating there again.

A lovely 2 night stay with Dinner on the first night an interesting old pirate pub with themed staff .

Don’t think I will be stopping again

One of the best hotel experiences we have had in the UK, great character and history, nice bar and really friendly staff. Had the beast of Bodmin for breakfast first morning which was huge and tasty and was like a gigantic full english breakfast.

Lovely choice of breakfast. Enough to set you up for the day. Friendly staff, happy to help.

Stayed many atime. Lovely place, mu secret place to be, has to be tried. Will return again soon

The staff on the bar the first night we stayed just didn't seem to want to be there.

The property is amazing, it has everything, the scenery, views, rooms are beautiful, food and drinks are excellent and the history of the place is fascinating.

Our room was lovely with great views and good amenities. But the stay was very much let down by the attitude and lack of communication from the majority of the staff. When checking in I confirmed with the receptionist that we had a table booked in the Galley restaurant for dinner. On arrival in the bar for a pre-dinner drink my husband checked in with the waitress, who showed him our reserved table and told him to go through when we were ready. She did say that the Galley restaurant was shut ‘due to a wake’. There was no evidence of the wake still going on at 6 pm. When we went through to our table we were completely ignored by numerous waiting staff. Eventually my husband went to the bar to ask for another drink. At this point he was told that ‘due to the wake we are not doing table service tonight’. Now why, oh why, did none of the previous staff we had spoken to ever mention this? How long would we have sat there if we hadn’t gone and asked? And why did the long finished wake mean that there was no table service? Purely to make things easier for them at the expense of their customers. The food was nice, but the whole evening was marred by the attitude and lack of awareness of the staff. The duty manager did come and speak to us and comped us a drink, but this should never have been necessary. Also please be aware that reception insist on a physical credit card - we could not pay by phone. Nowhere in advance is this made clear.

Fab location, reception staff great, bar staff could be happier, great breakfast. Overall great time with a bit of spooky going ons.
