There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the quality was good. The staff were lovely also. My only minor niggle and it is minor weight only got two tea bags in the room. (I'm a big tea drinker) I'm sure that if I had asked more would have been provided. Plus usually in hotels you get a little biscuit on the tea tray which there wasn't. But a bonus tick in the bathroom was individual shampoo and conditioner and shower gel. More than happy with my stay thank you

Hotel was of excellent standard, room was very comfortable, breakfast was good and hotel very well presented. Only minor issue was rolling back in the hotel around 10pm and hoping to grab something to eat, we didn't expect the resturant to be open but hoped we could have something light or even room service in the bar. I was with a friend who lives locally and wasn't staying in the hotel. The staff I guess were trying to be helpful in their own way but were keen to share it was hotel policy that no food is consumed in the bar. We asked if we could not order room service (the kitchen seemed to be next to the bar) and just have in the bar, no! We even asked if we could have room service and bring back down, no! We asked for a room service menu, that took ten mins due to a shift change! We were then told there was only pizzas and would take more than 30 mins! All seemed a little obstructive and in the end we ordered McDonalds and took to the room.... probably against hotel policy

Okay but very corporate and a disgrace you have to pay £15 to park in their carpark overnight. Ridiculous it’s £16 each for breakfast or £29 for room service breakfast for one?? Drinks extortionate - £16 for small wine and a pint??? Get a grip folks! Wetherspoons is just the other side of the bridge - greed will be your downfall

Disappointed not to have a twin room that I specifically requested at time of booking as was travelling with my grown up son. Was told 100% full on arrival (nearly midnight) but that there was a sofa bed in room. Got in there and that wasn’t made up and didn’t look fit to take a 6ft man or be comfortable to sleep in with my bad back. Eventually got a call saying a twin could be cleaned & made available- why that wasn’t the case in the first place I don’t know. The carpet near the bathroom was damp underfoot-think the ill fitting shower door allowed water from a previous occupant to leak out.

Great hotel with spacious comfortable room although decor is a little dated and signs of wear and tear were apparent. Minor niggle was that I could seem to get the normal UK TV channels on the TV, BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc. It had Internet TV with loads of channels but not the main UK channels for some reason? Had to use iPlayer on my laptop. I did try iPlayer on the TV itself but the video kept buffering so I guess the internet wasn't up to it. As I was only staying 1 night it didn't really affect my stay that much.

Standard room had view to back of building, so private and quiet. Not possible to adjust heating, so too stuffy at night. No fridge or biscuits in room. Bathroom had very good shower and lighting. Sufficient storage and hangers in room, but limited sockets and had to plug in kettle next to tv. Breakfast was good, but could do with more coffee machines. Parking reasonably priced and directly behind hotel. Swimming pool a big bonus, but the bins were full and needed emptying. I would stay here again as it is so convenient for visiting Durham, and for parking. The staff were also very helpful.
