Radisson BLU Hotel Durham

We didn’t have breakfast here so I can’t comment on that. I chose this hotel as a treat rather than a budget hotel option for myself and my fiancé for a night away. I was disappointed with the room- it was very tired looking and dated. Stains/marks on the carpet and curtains and the room itself just wasn’t particularly modern looking. I slept badly as the air conditioning didn’t seem to work properly and the pillows were awful with no extras available. I wished we’d chosen a budget option instead. The only things that were good were the actual lobby area looks lovely and the staff within it were polite and helpful. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to stay here

Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff, comfortable beds and spotlessly clean rooms. Breakfast wonderful too. Highly recommend. We will be back 😊

Lovely friendly staff, fantastic position, close to shops and restaurants, food and drink excellent and all areas immacularely clean.

All very good. I was given an accessible room (which I didn’t need). Lovely, up to date, modern and very large.

room service didn’t answer the phone - tried several times. had to go down to order a sandwich. Bar doesn’t sell crisps or nuts Christmas dinner was absolutely disgusting. Roast potatoes were anaemic- i think they’d been roasted for two minutes max. sprouts like bullets. pigs in blankets looked like they’d been boiled. horrendous

Superior room was a basic bedroom. Clean and adequate but expected more. No fridge or minibar, poor signal on tv (picture and sound kept breaking up) and the safe at floor level is not easy to access when you’re in your mid seventies. Ordered room service meal - after an hour phoned reception to be told that order had not been passed on to kitchen. Overall, disappointed with the hotel - expected better when paying over £200 per night.

Kettle didn’t work well. Heating kept resetting to high and very time we entered the room. Charged for the car park for a function where it was free. Staff very “not my problem” speak with reception. Breakfast had to ask for multiple items to be replenished from foot to crockery.

Nice hotel, great area. Wouldn’t recommend the breakfast, it was average buffet fare and not worth the extra £21, you’d be much better finding one of the great local cafes to eat

Friendly staff and good atmosphere

No shower gel or shampoo (not even hand wash which is simply unacceptable these days) in the fitted bottles attached to shower and sink areas, didn’t notice until I was getting washed which was very inconvenient, rooms not maintained very well, empty receptacles which is quite unnecessary in hotel rooms these days, more like a budget motel room, dated and needs attention, horrendously over priced for a cheap dated room with very basic refreshments and tired room, worst Radisson I have ever stayed in, although staff were fabulous both at reception and the bar. Understand you’re paying for location, but no Radisson usual flare, thin old pillows, slim single beds, towel, although clean, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were purchased circa 1990s.
