Château de Courcelles - Relais & Châteaux

Pretty noisy as the walls are very thin. You can hear everything going on in the rooms near by. Also the bed was very small. No tea and coffee in the room . Parking was excellent and the staff were Pleasant.

We stayed there one night Show and found the location very convenient and the accommodations comfortable.

The room was small, tired, dated and very cold. We booked the Michelin Star restaurant for our 40th anniversary dinner. What a disappointment. We booked the table for 7.30 and were taken through to a snug where we were offered drinks and menus. We were with another couple who were taken through to the dining room by a member of staff, We agreed on the tasting menu. Unfortunately there wasn’t a wine flight with the tasting menu but the sommelier said he would organise something. We had some appetisers and finished our drinks and waited for a member of staff to take us through to the dining room, and waited. At 8.30 I walked through to the dining area to find what was going on. We had waited so long we contemplated just going back to our room and calling it a night. The waiter explained he was waiting for us. No apology. That was the way they ran service. Why book a table for 7.30 if you were going to sit in a snug for an hour? I believe we had been forgotten. The food we had did not merit a star. Very acidic. Nice to look at, but really strange combinations. The next day on leaving we explained our issues and were met with indifference. It was explained we don’t like to rush people through and we like the customer to enjoy their drinks as they have a policy of not taking drinks through to the dining room. Again no apology. The Manager did not seem to understand that you only get one 40th wedding anniversary. We will definitely not be returning.

The building has the perfect “oldness” about it, to me this very, old & grand structure has the perfect maintenance program. Loved every section of this facility.

Small, boutique hotel in the countryside, 30 minutes from Rheims. The staff are superlative. The restaurant earned it’s star and the country setting is quiet and relaxing. If you want a quiet, calm base to explore the Champagne region, this is your place. Tres bon!

The whole trip should be planned around your dinner and champagne sampling at this beautiful property. Everything, especially the history, is fabulous, but the food elevates the experience to an out-of-body experience. The staff is incredible, and I really appreciated the tour and the appreciation for so much history at the chateau.

Fantastic place to stay

We were very warmly welcomed at the Chateau by the friendly staff who kindly carried our cases up the winding stairs to a very comfortable spacious room. Despite the age of the Chateau the room had all the 'mod-cons' one hopes for these days. The bathroom had both a lovely outsized bath and a separate rain shower with good water pressure and modern fittings. The bed was a large king size with very comfortable mattress and pillows. There was also plenty of storage for clothes if we needed it for a longer stay. Nice touches included a Nespresso coffee machine and hope make cake on arrival. We also booked for dinner and the restaurant was particularly beautiful and staffed by very knowledgeable and helpful staff. The set menu for 4 courses at 90 euros was good value for money and fine dining at its best. Congratulations to Chef Benjamin Collombat and his brigade.

Everything was a great experience from the property through to the food and drinks, a truly fantastic experience and one to be repeated

Absolutely faultless.We arrived and was instantly upgraded to the most beautiful room with a huge terrace.The chateau and it’s grounds are incredible & very well maintained.The whole team are super helpful and attentive give.We had lunch and dinner here both superb.We we’re sad to leave.Dog friendly too.

Great setting, the red sun loungers and umbrellas create a regal feel, some elements around pool could be manicured better. But a traditional French chateau.

This is a beautiful place to stay. The grounds are just lovely as is the pool area. The bed is beyond comfortable and staff is exceptional.
