Holiday Inn BERLIN - CITY WEST, an IHG Hotel

Really enjoyed our stay - the room was a nice size, the pool was really nice, and the hotel was close to the underground station with direct train to the city and not too far from Olympiastadium

Easy check in, friendly staff, environment looks great

Clean spacious room and the staff here were excellent. Great 5* service from everyone we dealt with and they went above and beyond with any request. The hotel is a great price and located well within a 5/10 minute walk of an underground - would happily stay here again.

The elevator was inoperable multiple times during my visit. The housekeeping staff were excellent in maintaining the room in a clean state of status. The restaurant staff were welcoming and extremely friendly yet professional.

We really enjoyed our time at this hotel. Most the staff were fantastic. Only one that was a little unhelpful. The rooms are clean and up to date. The added bonus was the pool. This was great as a time filler when you have a little one. Although I would say that this hotel is definitely aimed a little more to an older crowd. My only negative about the whole experience is the Hotel app itself. I booked this holiday with breakfast but apparently you have to add that on. Just make it better to use.

It was very short staffed. The staff was very good, but they were not given good support to do their job.

I am very disappointed in this IHG Hotel. Having stayed in the one in Amsterdam I have such good expectations especially because the staff there were very hospitable. However for Berlin City West, booking via Expedia I am sure that I booked the room with “Breakfast included” and upon checkin the staff said breakfast is not included and I showed him then he agreed, the next morning going for breakfast I was told that I need to buy breakfast which I was shocked because I thought upon checkin the staff fixed it. I went to the reception again and the person said oh I’ve added now. However, on the day of checkout, I was told I need to pay for breakfast for the 3 days. which left me utterly shocked. I said no, I told the person upon checkin but he argued upon which I said I wanted to see the manager. The guy who is the manager came out, he said oh with such low rates you booked breakfast definitely was not included. I booked a month ago, where the rates were low, I didn’t book 2 days prior to check in. The staffs are unfriendly. This is not what I had expected from an IHG Hotel at all. It should be made explicitly clear on Expedia as well as on IHG if or not breakfast is included. Having paid more than fair share of money for something that was said to have been included but was not, this is absolutely ridiculous. I will never stay at this IHG hotel again especially due to the lack of hospitality by the staffs and for not making things perfectly clear instead of the back and forths

I enjoy staying in this hotel.

Very clean and well maintained. Friendly staff in the restaurant. Reception was understaffed (particularly at peak times) and disorganised - tried to charge me for my stay, despite our having pre-paid and a receipt. Also forgot to pre-book a taxi for me, despite having agreed to do so.

The hotel is an hour's schlepp from Berlin centre. Pool was not available - Expedia website had not indicated that their pool was out of use or I would not have opted for the place. Worst of all, the staff was TERRIBLY RUDE!!!! Other guests said so, too. They were not hosts, they were employees whose principle job it seemed to be to make it clear to every one of their 'guests' that theey were unwelcome and a pain!! I have decided that following this experience (and a similar one previously in Baku) I will not be staying again at the Holiday Inn Chain anywhere in the world. If it is a toss-up between that chain and a campsite, campsite wins every time. Dreadful place - spend your money elsewhere, guys!!

It was nice and helpful

Upon my arrival I was suprised there is no swimming pool, all other hotels had written that the swimming pools are closed this one didnt have the info. And based on that i booked the place, however hotels.com were helpful in that matter

I enjoyed the pool and the sauna. Also the breakfast was nice and restaurant had good options

Booked a double room and was given a twin. Reception was very unhelpful and unfriendly with a long wait. Ask why I was given a twin room and was told that’s all was available!! Terrible nights sleep in a single bed.

Great hotel that has a short taxi trip to the airport. Close to trains too.

My checking in experience was not very good. My key card did not work on my room door and eventually had to take someone from reception with me as they did not believe me. Not very Customer friendly way to start.
