Hotel was wonderful and indeed with good service. However, reception had issues seeing that I had already paid for the room (pre-pay redeeming two free nights). I had to look for the receipt in the app and pass this on. No harm - this is what happens - but I was surprised that this even happened. First time in more than 10 years I have experienced this. Suggest Hotels.com check up with the hotel on this so that it does not happen to the next guest paying via Hotels.com.

I stayed here with my husband and two children on our trip to Hamburg.
This property was an absolute treat!
The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly.
The bed rooms were quiet, beds were extremely comfortable, and the pool and sauna were amazing.
We had a wonderful time.

So beautiful and old fashioned! The history, the surroundings, the beautiful river and the songs of the birds! The brightness and big white windows that opened ! I loved the bathroom also ! So bright! The Spring flower were wonderful!

Hotel was overall good but did not have or did not tell us about an elevator and the room had no AC. The June temperatures were 30 - 33, but it did cool off nicely at night. The thatched roof is neat! There is a very nice trail to walk on.

Classic German Village Hotel... loved the ambiance, enjoyed the restaurant. The setting is gorgeous, with a stream running through the back acreage of the hotel. I'd love to come back!

Reboot of hotel (opened in spring). Quiet, pretty location a bit off the beaten path, in nice residential area bordering forest and overlooking small river (Alster) lock. Good restaurant (which also serves as event venue) serving traditional German food with outside seating. Short drive to great mall Altertal Einkaufs Zentrum (AEZ) with excellent shopping and decent food options.
