Sahid Surabaya Hotel

Stayed 1 night at this hotel as a transit point before continuing our journey to Jember. We chose this hotel because we wanted to relive the memories of our 2-week stay here in 2003, fully aware that the hotel was past its prime and was in survival mode. With the app rate of <300 thousand rupiah per night, what could we expect? We still managed to get a spacious room with a king-size bed, even a buffet breakfast that, although minimalist and seemingly simple, we would not have gotten if we stayed at a budget hotel. The slightly faded linens, dirty floor mats and bathroom floors, minimal amenities (1 bar of soap, 1 bottle of shampoo, and 1 set of toothbrush & paste), we didn't even dare boil the tap water, even making tea had to heat bottled mineral water reminded us that this hotel was struggling to survive. As for the location, don't ask anymore... this hotel has an extremely strategic location. In 2003, we got a room with a window facing Gubeng station. Meanwhile, in 2025, we got a room with a view of the Surabaya city landscape with the Kalimas River and its submarine monument. Gubeng Station next to it is an additional strategic point for this hotel. For those who are disturbed by the sound of passing trains, aren't they aware that they choose to stay at a hotel near a busy train station. It's natural that the walls of the hotel room are not able to muffle the sound of train horns that reach 100-130db. At least the hotel building doesn't vibrate when a train passes. One surprising thing about our room is that.....our room is equipped with an ultra HD smart TV which we rarely get when staying at other 4-star hotels even though the hotel doesn't provide Wi-Fi. So...you can still marathon Korean dramas by tethering from your personal cellphone.

the location is strategic, in the city center, close to tourist attractions and malls, but unfortunately when I wanted to sleep the sheets were dirty & badly torn, the bathroom was also a bit dirty, when I complained to the receptionist, they immediately replaced it, then the breakfast had little variety, I wanted to take the toast, it was already finished even though it was only 6.30, and the position was really quiet for the guests.. when I wanted to ask the staff, they said they were going to refill it, when I waited, the bread machine was taken inside, as if it was no longer available.. aaah I'm a bit put off staying here, even though the price is not that cheap, you know

Best room hotel near Gubeng Train Station and Business District

Spacious room and also have a view facing the the city. It's a walking distance to Gubeng Railway station.

The location is too close to the station, so there's a lot of noise from passing trains and the whistles of the officers. I can't rest.

In the bathroom, there was a used shampoo sachet that hadn't been thrown away or cleaned. The view was of the train tracks and it was noisy when the train passed.

The location is right next to the Gubeng station train tracks, so noisy whistles and passing trains make it difficult to rest at night. Food is limited, and the rooms are not very clean.

Old hotel, quite worth it, it's just a shame that the room service can suddenly come in to clean the room without being asked, while the guest is outside the room.

old school hotel, need some improvement

For a three-star hotel, they don't provide toothpaste and toothbrushes, the wifi is really slow and the TV isn't a smart TV that can connect to Netflix. Hopefully, it will be better in the future.

The views, service, and cleanliness were excellent. Finding this hotel was easy, thanks to its strategic location. The hotel is within walking distance of the station, mall, and town square.

The toilets smelled awful, the corridors were dirty, and the rooms were filthy. I will never stay at Sahid again in my life.

Overall, Sahid is an old hotel, and for the price listed, it is very satisfying. The rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast is varied, but unfortunately the taste is not that great. But for that budget, I don't think there is anything lacking, it is very satisfying.

I stayed yesterday because it was close to the race location. The room was comfortable and clean. The AC was just the right amount of cold, not too cold. The minibar worked well. The bathroom was clean. When I checked in, the room I booked was full, but I got a free room upgrade (it happened to be my birthday too).
