Staff very helpful, hotel basic but clean and room well cleaned, location to mercato central and train station very good. Tubs need a safety mat but shower good with plenty hot water. Breakfast never varied and scrambled eggs always cold despite heater (often not on). Plenty of food but nothing fancy.

The hotel is very tired and grubby. The staff, with some exceptions, were rude. The bed and pillows were extremely hard, with the pillows being flat and balled up. the photos of the rooms on the website are very old and do not represent the current state of the hotel rooms; even staff admitted this. We were given a small room with a view of a wall, with old furniture, grubby walls and floors, and hard beds and pillows. The third bed in our triple room was also not made up.They moved us to another room, which was larger but the same. Due to the uncomfortable beds, we did not sleep well. The next morning, a very lovely man at reception helped us and moved us to a much nicer room, However, even this room did not justify the price we paid, as there are much nicer places to stay for that cost. The best part of this room was the shower, although water overflowed onto the floor, requiring three towels to soak it up!! BE AWARE if booking through expedia, even though the rooms are not what is displayed on the hotel and the hotel is not what it says it is, they will not issue a refund! The breakfast experience was also terrible The area was very busy with no available seating. We had to find chairs from other guests' tables to create our own table, and a staff member simply watched us do this. They ran out of food, cups, and coffee machines were broken.the staff were fighting with each other, it was not great. The bathroom soaps and plastic cups were a disgrace.More 2 star.

Incredible staff. Extremely helpful and kind. Hotel is old, but clean. Vendors set up just outside, can hear them setting up, we didn’t mind, added to the charm. We only had coffee for breakfast one morning, late. Choices seemed ok, coffee was great.

I am writing to bring to your attention a significant issue we experienced during our recent stay at [Hotel Name], booked through Expedia. From the first night of our three-night stay, we were confronted with a very unpleasant and persistent sewer odor in our room. I immediately reported this concern to the reception, and although maintenance was sent to address the issue, their efforts were limited to spraying chemicals and attempting to clear the drain. Unfortunately, the smell of the chemicals only worsened the situation, and the foul odor persisted throughout our stay. As the nights went on, the problem did not improve, and on our final night, the situation became unbearable. The sewer gas had completely infiltrated the room, making it extremely uncomfortable and unhealthy to stay inside. This was especially concerning because my son has asthma, and the strong odors and chemical fumes aggravated his breathing. Despite repeatedly communicating our concerns to the hotel staff, including the front desk, no effective solution or room change was offered. Their responses were polite but unhelpful, and we felt ignored as paying guests. Given these circumstances, I kindly request that you review this matter and assist us in finding a fair resolution — such as a partial refund or suitable compensation for the discomfort. Thanks

Despite providing medical documentation and explaining that I was physically unable to travel, my request for a refund was met with a cold, scripted response. I reached out with sincerity, sharing the context and asking for compassion. Their reply? “We understand the situation and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, a direct refund is not possible.” This was not a last-minute cancellation—there were still nearly three weeks before check-in. The refusal felt less about policy and more about a complete disregard for basic empathy. Even Expedia intervened on my behalf, but they too were stonewalled: “We’re following up on your request to cancel your booking and to reach out to the property for a refund. As much as we wanted to fulfill your request, we are subject to the vendor’s rules and cannot override their policies.” It’s hard not to suspect that the room was resold after my cancellation, allowing the company to profit twice while refusing to support a customer in genuine need. This experience reflects a troubling lack of care and integrity. I would strongly caution others against booking with this establishment.

Really my only complaint is that the shower was small but other than that the overall experience was good and this place is an excellent choice close to the trains station making it highly convenient for stop over trips in Florence It’s one block away from Mercato Centrale , which is a must visit place, the food court on the 2nd floor is really good. Don’t waste your money on the highest rated restaurants in Florence, there’s better local options around this hotel Also this hotel is walking distance from everything.
