Splendid Hotel Taormina - Handwritten Collection

The hotel was in a good , close uphill location from town (Umberto Corso) and just outside the inner city walls. Very close to shopping and all. Breakfast was delicious and the view from restaurant was gorgeous. We did have a sea view but ask for a higher floor if possible.

Splendid Hotel is a perfect location to all Taormina has to offer. The property is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly, and helpful.

Nice location, clean, generous breakfast and modern room

The room was very clean and the air conditioning was great . We had a little patio with amazing view. The hotel managers were very helpful finding us parking in Toramina . We were driving across Sicily so it was imperative that we could park our car . There is actually a big parking structure in Toramina . It is a Long walk up hill out of the parking structure It worked out well for us . The free Breakfast in the morning was very nice . It had a lot of selection . The hotel is in a very nice and is in a great location too. I would definitely come back .

Perfect location, extremely accommodating staff

Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno meraviglioso allo Splendid Hotel Taormina. La posizione è eccellente, a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro storico, ma allo stesso tempo tranquilla e rilassante. La vista sul mare è semplicemente spettacolare e rende ogni momento ancora più speciale. Tutto il personale è stato eccezionale: sempre sorridente, professionale e disponibile ad aiutarci con qualsiasi richiesta. Ci siamo sentiti davvero i benvenuti. La piscina è bellissima e perfetta per rilassarsi dopo una giornata trascorsa a visitare Taormina e i dintorni. Anche il ristorante merita un elogio: ottimo cibo, servizio attento e un’atmosfera molto piacevole. La nostra camera era confortevole e pulita. Per una famiglia di quattro persone era un po’ piccola, ma ci siamo organizzati senza problemi. Come piccolo suggerimento, sarebbe utile controllare le guarnizioni delle porte della doccia, che nella nostra camera tendevano a staccarsi. Nel complesso è stato un soggiorno fantastico e consigliamo questo hotel a chiunque desideri visitare Taormina. Grazie a tutto lo staff per la splendida ospitalità. Speriamo di tornare presto!

Clean Staff amazing start to finish. Spotless rooms, staff that actually care, and the location makes exploring Taormina so easy. Everything felt high end without being stuffy. If you’re debating where to book, stay here. Already planning to come back.

We originally loved our room on the fourth floor with an ocean view, and the valet parking was very helpful. However, after returning from dinner, we found a lot of ants in the room. The staff was very helpful in finding us another room for the evening. By that time, we were exhausted after a long trip and just wanted to rest, so we did not argue or object when we were moved to a first-floor, older room with no view. We understood that the replacement room may have been the only option available if the hotel was fully booked. However, the facility maintenance was disappointing. An ant issue should not happen in a hotel like this. More importantly, no one acknowledged the room downgrade or offered any accommodation. Even a small gesture would have made us feel much better about the situation.

The staff were pleasant and welcoming. Our room had a beautiful view and was spacious for us as a family of four but there was a smell coming from the the room that unfortunately, even after the staff tried resolving the problem - it didn’t go away!

Check in was 30 min late, 3:30 PM. Missing amenities in our room. Sewage smell outside room. However, great location.

Proximity to both the city centre and to the beach was excellent. We enjoyed that it was walking distance to anywhere we needed to go and very safe. Breakfast was wonderful with very helpful and friendly staff.

The location of the property was great but the room wasn’t very clean with dust bunnies and dead bugs. The property claims to have a 24 hr bus shuttle to and from the Catania airport but it doesn’t exist. You have to call a taxi to get to the airport. There was only a thin sheet on the bed so I had to use towels for additional warmth.

Clean rooms. AC works very well. Good location.

I don’t think it’s worth the money. People who aren’t guests take up the facilities, lack of service in the “bars”, no light lunch menu or pool service. Room turn down doesn’t take place until after 4pm often conflicting with the time you want to return to your room for the day. Breakfast is very good and staff are friendly but seem overstretched. Doesn’t live up to what it advertises I’m afraid. Would stay somewhere else.

Staff were very helpful and welcoming. We arrived late and they helped us to park our car temporarily in a tight spot outside the hotel until the valet could come and pick it up in the morning. Excellent breakfast. Great location with a short walk to the historic centre. Bed was very comfortable. Our room window looked out on a rock wall with plants and so was a bit dark.

Great hotel few minutes walk from main shops and restaurants also cable car 5min and bus station 5min. nice selection at breakfast. Need to be at least 2nd floor to get view with the highest floors with best. Great views from restaurant and breakfast room on 4th floor. Friendly staff . Nice pool but only get sun in morning at time of visit. Some outside noise early from bin lorry emptying recycling. Would recommend and return to hotel.

Très propre. La nourriture est bonne au buffet du dejeuner et excellente au restaurant à la carte en soirée avec une très belle vue. Air conditionné ne fonctionnait pas, mais sont venus réparer. Très satisfaite du service. Location est excellente.
