Great location, 10 mint walk to Hell Valley, we went during the night & early morning walk, not many tourists during early in the morning, great experience to explore Hell Valley. Shopping street just outside the hotel. Best is we are able to share the Dai Ichi Takimotokan Onsen facilities with no extra cost any time we want, just opposite of the hotel.

Adex Inn has an alpine lodge feel, but in summer, it means Nordic aesthetic. I really liked it but what I loved was access to the array of hot springs at Takimotokan across the road. Fabulous!!

Walkable from the bus station about less than ten minutes. It's a self checkin so they will email you a code, very easy to check in. Hotel was central and right across from the grand bath. They gave me a card to access and it was great. Bathroom is clean in the hotel room. But I would recommend using the grand bath. The room itself was clean, bed a bit hard but i was only there to sleep. Just be aware you will smell the sulfur. But more like a lingering sent. Overall it's a good hotel I would stay again.

Pros: Rooms cost half the price of daiichi takimotokan across the road, but we can use its grand bath for free. The hotel also has its own bath in the basement. The location is super convenient, and is very close to Jigokudani. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers provided which are very useful for travellers. Cons: There was a recent renovation, but I don't think the rooms were renovated much. The furniture show some wear and tear, and the amenities (such as switches) are distinctly old school. The public bath in the basement is very old and grimy-looking, which put me off. The 2 washers and 2 dryers are not enough when there are many guests. I was there at an off-peak time, and already I had to queue and wait for a few hours to use them.
