This is one of the best resorts you can possibly stay at. Everything is 10/10. It is all in one for everything you need. Note that the area it is in only has hotels for the most part, so it is difficult to get to a convenience store if you have no car. About an 8 minute uber which will run you about $20 USD round trip if you need something. Although often the resort has all you need. And they have bus service for free to the ski resort. I couldnt praise this resort more highly.

Book the loft room for a family of 4 Room: table has a hole at the bottom (not lighted) and was not very visible. Was quite a hazard for us as we tripped over that same hole twice. Stairs for the loft may not be suitable for people with knee problems as it’s a bit narrow with no handle. Keep in mind before you book that you have sort your trash into the way they want it to be sorted (burnable and non burnable) or else you may be fined 15,000 yen. Food: food was not as impressive as another outlet of this chain. Breakfast options are Japanese or western, with the same menu everyday. So if you’re staying for more than 2 days, you will have no third option. Staff: rigid and not understanding. We booked this accommodation 9 months in advance but did not receive any message about meal plans or schedule, was put to a 7am slot of breakfast 5:30pm slot for dinner with no option to change as they were fully booked. We were definitely not too pleased with this arrangement. There is no coffee served during breakfast, yet we were prohibited to bring our own coffee into breakfast. We were told to get coffee from their lounge instead. When we did this on the second day, they confiscated our drinks that we’ve gotten from the lounge. Quite ridiculous honestly. We were not given the best attitude from the staff when this coffee incident happened. The staff rolled eyes at us, wow.

Stay 2 nights in KAI ALPS. Hair on the bed but I used my own bedsheet. My package stayed with breakfast and dinner. The menu wasn’t changed after check-in. The female staff was unhelpful and her statement totally inconsistent with earlier statement. Who said the menu can only change by 6pm, but end up still cannot change the menu next day. This hotel is not worth to stay. We will not come back again and do not recommend to my friends and families.

This was perfect from check in to check out. Staff met us at the front gate, check in was easy with Kato helping us with dinner reservations and explaining where the onsen, reading room and other services were located. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional... all of the staff were so attentive. Arina was so lovely too. The food was incredible, delicious and tasty. Love the location, which is 15 min from Ogizawa station for the Tateyama Alpen Route. It has plenty of parking and staff welcomed us at the parking lot and guided us through the entire check-in process. You will have to make request early if you have a preferred dining time for breakfast and dinner. For dinner, it was either 5:30 or 7:30. There are more options for breakfast but if you check in late, they may be out of spots for certain times. Dinner was very fancy and consisted of multiple small bites. Overall very delicious food and great service. We also love the free activities near the lobby. When we were there, they had rice congee/porridge in the morning, tea in the afternoon and sake in the evening. We also enjoyed the private bath tub in our room since we were traveling with small children. Out of the three hotels we stayed in this trip, this had the "coldest" hot spring at around 40 degrees Celcius, which was perfect for the kids.

Everything was great from the start of our in room check in. Excellent service from all the staff with special mention to Ochia. Complimentary car park, 6 star half board menu. Both breakfast and dinner were so sumptuous and exquisitely planned! The onsen facilities were fantastic too. My family enjoyed our 2 nights of relax stay enroute to our alpine route. Hoshino hospitality is out of this world! Will defintely stay at Hoshino when we travel to Japan again.
