The location is great. Morning views of Mount Fuji were unbeatable. We were fortunate to have clear mornings, although, mid afternoon to late afternoon, clouds tend to move in and cover the mountain. Although very old property, it is well maintained, very clean. The Open air spa is fantastic, providing a very close-up, intimate view of Mount Fuji. all in all, our three night stay was wonderful. Highly recommend this property. Since the property is 2 km up the mountain, transportation could be an issue, although, if you carefully plan your exit and return, with their shuttle service, it works out very well.

Breakfast was delicious!!! Staff made phone calls to make pick up / bus arrangements Views from the onsen or public spa (sauna or natural pools) are insane, loved the experience. It is far away from the city part but there is shuttle to pick you up from MT Fuji bus stop to the hotel (just need a phone call) Taxis are rip off there, be mindful

This is a beautiful hotel set up on the hill above Lake Yamanaka with a gorgeous view of My Fuji (when not raining)! We only spent one night, but would definitely stay here again! The room was clean and comfortable, the building was clean and maintained, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic!

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The reception staff could neither speak nor understand basic English, which made the check-in process extremely difficult and stressful. Even when using Google Translate, communication remained a challenge, as the translated messages in their own language were still not properly understood, and we were repeatedly passed between staff members without resolution. The concierge desk was consistently unattended, and we received no assistance with arranging local tours or even obtaining basic information such as bus routes or an English map of the area. Due to the language barrier, we were also unable to make restaurant or bar reservations through the hotel. The room itself was very small and dated, with shabby décor that did not meet expectations. The bathroom was in particularly poor condition. Most concerning was the shower temperature control, which appeared to be stuck at 40°C, resulting in dangerously hot water without warning. When this issue was reported, instead of repairing or properly assessing the problem, the staff simply suggested that we move to another room while leaving our luggage behind in the original room, which felt both impractical and unprofessional. Overall, the lack of communication, poor maintenance, and limited guest support significantly affected our experience.

We stayed at Hotel My.Fuji for one night and had a pleasant overall experience, but it comes with a few important caveats. What worked well: The value for the price is strong, especially given the incredible views of Mt. Fuji. Waking up to that alone made the stay feel special. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast is on the pricier side, but the selection is generous and worth it if you plan to stay on-site. The staff were also genuinely warm and helpful throughout. What to be aware of: The hotel itself feels quite dated, and the bathroom in particular could use a refresh as it felt a bit worn and not as clean as expected. The biggest drawback, though, is the shuttle service. There’s no clear timetable available online, the schedule is limited, and you must reserve in advance. This made it difficult to plan our departure, especially when we wanted to leave early for a bus to Kyoto but couldn’t because the first shuttle wasn’t until around 8:45 AM. Overall: With some updates and a more flexible, clearly communicated shuttle schedule, this could be a great stay. As it stands, it’s best suited for those planning to relax at the hotel rather than come and go frequently.
