We enjoyed trying the traditional Japanese bento breakfasts; the onsen was wonderfully relaxing each day. Our room was clean and well-maintained with enough space along one wall for luggage and futons rolled away each morning to regain floor space. We’d come back anytime!

We loved our stay at Village Kyoto, the room was spacious and perfect for our family of four, the onsen was great, and we really appreciated all the special extras provided, like ice blocks and matcha. Super welcoming staff too!

Staff are good. There is a wine tasting in the lobby and free ice cream. I missed trying their on-site onsen, which is sad because I didn't have enough time. They provided us with matcha powder which my daughter loved. The breakfast is good and delicious but my only complaint is, it is VERY COLD when it arrives. They should deliver it with insulated bag or something to keep it warm.

Village Kyoto was another really nice place to stay during our trip. I really loved Kyoto in general, and this hotel added to the experience with its traditional Japanese feel, including tatami mats in the rooms and a relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. One of the best features was the onsen, which was perfect after long days of walking and exploring the city. They also had a sake mini bar/tasting area that opened at 3:00 p.m., which was a fun and unique touch. Laundry facilities on the 6th floor were also very convenient during a longer trip. The Gion district was super cool to explore, and Nishiki Market was definitely one of the highlights for food and shopping. We also had an amazing breakfast at Sakura Hanon Café, absolutely a must-visit. The hotel is a bit of a walk to some of the main shopping areas, but close to attractions like Nijō Castle and well worth it for the overall experience. Overall, another great stay and I would definitely stay here again.

Room was clean and very comfortable. However, it said it slept 6, so we expected the beds to be 3 doubles, but they were singles so we had to move the furniture and put 3 single futon mats out from the wardrobe. It was fine for kids but just meant we were stepping over each other and housekeeping folded everything away every day. There needs to be more washing machines available with washers with adequate drying facilities. The queue for facilities was long and the drying function barely worked so we ended up hanging washing wherever we could around our room - not ideal.

The open hallway can be very cold at night. Room is moderately good. Has microwave and fridge which is nice. Free sake and public bath are awesome. Has laundry and vending machine. Next to ramen and izakaya. Close to train station with elevator exit. Also very close to bus stop that goes to kyoto station. Great front desk service they called and shipped out my luggage to my next destination in Nikko.
