Village Kyoto close by Shijo Omiya station

Breakfast are mostly cold and only 3 choices. Free sake at lobby is very nice! Onsen is not bad. Location is good!

We enjoyed trying the traditional Japanese bento breakfasts; the onsen was wonderfully relaxing each day. Our room was clean and well-maintained with enough space along one wall for luggage and futons rolled away each morning to regain floor space. We’d come back anytime!

Worth the price

We loved our stay at Village Kyoto, the room was spacious and perfect for our family of four, the onsen was great, and we really appreciated all the special extras provided, like ice blocks and matcha. Super welcoming staff too!

Room was clean and very comfortable. However, it said it slept 6, so we expected the beds to be 3 doubles, but they were singles so we had to move the furniture and put 3 single futon mats out from the wardrobe. It was fine for kids but just meant we were stepping over each other and housekeeping folded everything away every day. There needs to be more washing machines available with washers with adequate drying facilities. The queue for facilities was long and the drying function barely worked so we ended up hanging washing wherever we could around our room - not ideal.

Hotel was amazing. Room was extremely spacious and staff were wonderful. The location is a bit further from Gion but the bus stop is right in front. Highly recommend

Onsen was nice. Rooms were clean. No coffee only matcha in room. Mostly took the bus from the hotel. Very comfortable

Very traditional Japanese Hotel. No western beds or chairs. Hotel is near train, metro station and bus stops. They offered us a complimentary Kimono dress experience and they have sake at reception. Breakfast is offered in the room, with option of Bento boxes.

Everything was great

The staff is very helpful and the listed amenities were nice. However, laundry facilities are rather limited.

The open hallway can be very cold at night. Room is moderately good. Has microwave and fridge which is nice. Free sake and public bath are awesome. Has laundry and vending machine. Next to ramen and izakaya. Close to train station with elevator exit. Also very close to bus stop that goes to kyoto station. Great front desk service they called and shipped out my luggage to my next destination in Nikko.

Hotel seems very similar to apartment buildings. Staff were excellent, some free amenities, however the washing machine needs to be improved. Drying is not great. For the most part, very affordable, very close to Kyoto metro, and for drivers there is an off-site parking somewhat close by.

Amazing place

Wonderful stay at Village Kyoto We absolutely loved our time at Village Kyoto; it exceeded expectations in every way. The location is perfect: right in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance of Nishiki Market, the Gion area, and plenty of restaurants and shops. You really feel immersed in Kyoto without being overwhelmed by noise. The hotel feels modern and well-designed, and the staff are genuinely professional, efficient, and friendly. Check-in was smooth, and everyone we interacted with was polite and helpful. Little touches made the stay extra special: complimentary sake and ice cream available in the lobby, which was such a fun surprise. The onsen facilities (indoor baths and sauna) were very nice and the perfect way to relax after a long day of sightseeing. Rooms are beautifully appointed and come with everything you could need: comfortable beds, yukata robes, high-quality toiletries, complimentary bottled water, tea/coffee facilities, and great showers with strong water pressure. For the level of comfort, location, and amenities, it felt like excellent value for money. We’ll definitely choose Village Kyoto again on our next trip and can’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Loved our rooms, very very thoughtful design, lots of little details like the tatami floors in the bedroom were lovely touches. The tables also were very flexible for eating or working. Overall the best rooms we got in Japan! The only area of improvement were the onsens. They were nice but, a single large tub was the only option. It fine but doesn't feel as satisfying as onsens with sauna and cold bath.
