I have to say the pool area with the mangroves in the background is stunning , especially at low tide. Within five minutes of our arrival we saw a pair of sea eagles and a collared Kingfisher. The restaurant had a great range of options, cooked to a high standard and the staff were very friendly. The room was large and airy with a decent balcony. My only issue is with the glass doors on the toilet and shower. No one wants to have to send their other half onto the balcony so they can use the toilet in peace. No need for this and it seems to be a trend at many beach resort type hotels :( I also highly recommend the wildlife river cruise . Overall we had a fantastic stay at Cove 55.

The resort is lovely, but it needs some work, tiles off on pool, all outdoor furniture by the pool looks terrible, just a bit of work would make the difference. The rooms too, paint scuffs, doors that stick and shower head that needs cleaning because most holes are blocked. We had the half board with breakfast and dinner included and that was brilliant, all meals were delicious, and dinner even came with a bottle of wine. The staff were really lovely.

This property did not live up to expectations. The photos online must have been photoshopped and do not represent the current state of the property. Having stayed at other resorts on Malaysia, this property is not a luxury escape. The facilities, including entrance, reception area, room including bathroom, restaurant, gardens and pool area are in desperate need of renovation, redecoration and major repairs. For example, tiles were missing from the pool and the pool leaked. There was little or no shade around the pool. The cushions around the shaded seating area in the garden were clearly mouldy which made that option unwelcoming. Overall I believe the descriptions and photos of the property were deceptive and the reality was very disappointing.

A hidden gem. A very well designed and maintained property. Didn't feel like we were staying in a hotel. The staff were unfailingly polite and courteous. More importantly, they appeared genuinely keen to help. When told that we were vegetarians, the staff at the restaurant took great pains to check with the chef to have vegetarian breakfast prepared for us in lieu of that on the menu. The staff at the reception guided us on scheduling our visits to the various spots in Kuching. We stayed 4 nights here (just before the new year) and they were one of the most relaxing and peaceful stays. We wish Cove 55 and its staff and management a very happy new year and many successful years ahead.

We loved that it was constructed in such a mod, architectural manner particularly the pool. Practicality and substance were sacrified in some areas for style, and this needs to be revisited. Expanding the menu with eveb more local fare would be good as well. Mattress, pillows and bedding were by far the best we'd ever experienced, across the globe, so kudos for that. And we love your staff. Friendly and efficient without being curious and intrusive.

Great place, great staff, everyone very friendly and helpful. They packed breakfast and lunches for us when we couldn't make the times or were out and generally helped. However, it is a distance from the town so guided tours often charge extra for the 30min to pick you up. On the other hand, its only 10 min from the Santubong Mountain trek (about 3hrs to peak one way with 2 waterfalls on the way). Great food and even better unique cocktails from the Cambodian mixologist (forgotten his name sorry!) Try the 6 pieces of gold in particular!
