Extremely disappointing stay at LUX* Le Morne. While the property positions itself as a luxury resort, the experience fell far short of that standard. A major issue was the presence of a large number of cats roaming freely across the property, including around and inside restaurant areas. This was not disclosed anywhere on the website or booking platforms. This is particularly concerning as my wife is allergic to cats and became extremely uncomfortable and anxious throughout the stay. She barely stepped out of the room for most of the trip, which completely defeated the purpose of a holiday and made it feel like a waste of money. This should have been clearly communicated before booking so guests can make an informed decision. Cleanliness was also a concern. Ants were noticed in multiple areas, and even the coffee machine appeared unclean and poorly maintained. Overall hygiene standards felt inconsistent and not in line with a premium property. Food was another disappointment. Prices were very high—comparable to fine dining or Michelin-level expectations—but the quality, taste, and presentation were only average at best, in some cases closer to casual roadside standards. The room air conditioning was old and ineffective, making comfort difficult in the tropical climate. Basic room infrastructure clearly needs upgrading. While the location is scenic, the service, maintenance, food quality, and hygiene do not justify the rates charged. NOT RECOMMENDED FROM MY SIDE!

Beautiful property and wonderful staff, but I felt nickled and dimed. Half board was advertised as including breakfast and dinner, but they still charged us for the bottle of water we ordered with dinner and it turned out that the buffet dinner was the only one included for free; the other 3 or 4 restaurants on the property were just “30% off.”

I booked this hotel because of its high rating. However, based on our recent 4 nights stay, it's far from the standards of a 5-star hotel. The overall services are awful with so many inexperienced trainees and low efficiency. Some mistakes looked like jokes for such a reputable resort. Unbelievable! Main restaurant: Several service people asked us about our room number again and again. A waiter placed our order but forgot some, so we had to repeat. Another one totally forgot our coffee until we left and this happened twice. A young waitress had a long face all the time. She took my plate very rudely without asking if I finished, and splashed soup on my table without any apology. It also took forever to receive our bills. Sometimes I was asked to sign, but sometimes it didn't need. It even took more than 5 minutes for them to find a pen. Housekeeping: 1 day a trash can was not emptied. 1 day some sands on our floor were not cleaned. 1 day we asked for refilling the shampoo bottle, but no one came, so we had to call again. Then a lady brought us hand wash by mistake. When she returned with a new shampoo bottle, she left her master key in our room. Gym: the staff still occupied guests' fitness equipment when the gym was busy. Food: some buffet foods were not fresh. Cucumber slices and tomato cuts dried out and grilled shrimps were powdery. Room: our bed was worn out. Conclusion: Avoid this hotel. We didn't get what we paid for.

Absolute paradise of a location!! The views are spectacular and there is wildlife everywhere you look. The sea is crystal clear and amazing for snorkelling in the shallow reefs with so much wildlife and different ecosystems. The room was perfect for us , we stayed in a sunset junior suite with a beautiful balcony, sea views and a massive bath! The cleaning staff were great, we never had any issues with hygiene. The food was very decent and a lot of options for different eaters, the seafood is a standout. The only real negative is the lack of entertainment. We were there early February and it seemed to us on most weekdays there was no entertainment, and the ones we did have of a weekend was of a lower standard than were used to. Having stayed at Lux Belle Mare a year ago, we were surprised with the difference in entertainment. If you want quality live music of an evening choose Lux Belle Mare as there is more of an active evening scene, but if you’re looking for a very calming and slower paced holiday choose here! We would still give this hotel 5 stars, and we got engaged here in the treehouse which I would pick for any romantic celebration. The celebrations centre performed outstandingly, as all staff here do, and couldn’t have asked for a better way to propose to my now fiancé.

Excellent hotel in a stunning location We had a wonderful stay at Lux Le Morne Mauritius. The hotel is excellent, spotlessly clean, and set on a truly beautiful beach with breathtaking views. One of the highlights of our trip was swimming with wild dolphins — absolutely well worth doing and an unforgettable experience. I would definitely recommend spending the extra for an ocean view room; waking up to that view really added something special to our stay. The restaurant was very good overall, although a few more themed evenings would be welcome, especially for guests staying for two weeks or longer. The staff were amazing, particularly in the restaurant. They shared great tips about the island, made us laugh, and even brought us bowls of fresh lychees at breakfast — such a lovely touch. A special thank you to Cindy and Viswanee for making our stay even more memorable. We would happily return and highly recommend this hotel.

A honeymoon to remember, for all the wrong reasons! We booked a sunset suite which was unfortunately very dirty on arrival with a view of the back of a restaurant, no sunset! Hotel was full so ended up being downgraded to a basic room! Overall we found the service very poor in some areas of the hotel, particularly breakfast. Towels are on sun beds at 8am which doesn’t set a nice tone! Have to book restaurants in advance too. Spa was very tired and not reflective of 5* hotel but spa treatments were enjoyable. Hotel ruined our laundry! Which was the cherry on top of our stay. Not sure where this hotel has so many excellent reviews. Unfortunately this was a very disappointing honeymoon, that did not live up to our expectations.

A beautiful property, but unfortunately we found the service lacking. Unexpected for such a high-end stay.
