Hansa Hotel

The Hansa is in a great location, close to my favourite bars and restaurants in Swakopund. Although a bit dated the hotel is well maintained, clean and has a charming atmosphere. The staff are all very professional and courteous; it was also a nice bonus to find a room service menu in the room... the calamari was great btw.

We enjoyed our stay. All the staff was very courteous and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

No elevators to the 2nd floor is a problem for older customers.

I was overall pleased with this property. The only drawback was no elevator and the room was a tiny bit dated, but overall everything was nice and clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Great experience. The Hotel was build in 1905 and managed to maintain some of its old-time charm and formality (much appreciated). However, it does not appear to be dated in any way. We had a double room with 1 Queen and 2 twins which was excellent for the family. Would definitely recommend.

I felt like I was in a real hotel. I was treated with great respect by all the staff. When I needed assistance with phone calls or parking or ice or milk or anything, they immediately helped me they even posted my mail. The front desk people are superb. I have not had a hotel experience like this in a long time.

Everything you would want from a great hotel: Spacious rooms with very comfortable beds and excellent bathrooms. Fantastic breakfast buffet, safe parking and very friendly and helpful staff. The location is central but quiet. We would definitely stay at the Hansa again!

We loved the historic Hansa! Great location in city centre.

No airport shuttle and not willing to arrange one. I booked this because of the mention of an airport shuttle. The hotel ignored my emails to arrange the shuttle, so I had to call internationally. I was then told that they don't have a shuttle and they would not arrange one. They told me there was a booth at the airport (there is not) to arrange a shuttle. I asked the hotel to correct the reference to an airport shuttle on Expedia and provided them with sufficient time to do this. At the time of this review, they had not. Otherwise, a decent basic hotel, which appears to cater to large tourist groups.

The hotel facility is good. The room is comfortable. However the reception is not up to par. She is not very helpful with our inquiry nor sympathetic to our situation. And a car alarm went off on or near the property for half an hour around 4am and nobody is doing anything to get it under control.

Very well positioned, staff very helpful, slightly old fashioned style but breakfast good and good atmosphere in bar , attention to details in the room could be Better bulb not working by bed , past guests clothing left in wardrobe, shower noisy and fridge not working, however all reported and dealt with . Overall would recommend
