Perfect location. Located on a beautiful canal and walking distance to everything, including the train station. This was one of the most beautiful hotels I've stayed at! In the lobby they have a cappuccino machine and jars of candy and a beautiful restaurant and bar. There are comfortable seating nooks all over the lobby and bar. We stayed here for a week and could not have been more comfortable!

The Hotel Estherea is beautiful on the inside with a great breakfast and an extremely accommodating staff. Other than the tiny closest in our room, nothing about the hotel could be better. It is about five blocks from a metro station and two blocks from a trolley. There are many restaurants in the area. However, our canal view room overlooked a dumpster from a houseboat being remodeled and had a great view of the graffiti on the large building across the canal. The bicycles, cars, and hordes of tourists make the very narrow streets and sidewalks in the area unpleasant to walk on. We would not stay in this area again.

We had a Canal view room, which I would highly recommend our room was spacious not too very limited space to hang or shelves to put your things on We had trouble with our door lock, but turns out that they punched in the wrong room number. Every time they had to resend a key up to our room. The staff was very accommodating. We had questioned why we heard hammering at 7 AM and the manager was a little bit. That’s the way it is. We did not partake in the breakfast as there is great food very close by the neighborhood was the best.

The rooms and hallways were thick with Marijuana smoke from a nearby "coffee house"(pot store and smoking spot). We had to change into a smaller room away from the smoke as it was intolerable in the initial room. It is a shame that this obtrusive and disgusting odor permeates and ruins a beautiful hotel.
