Hotel St Clair

Great facilities, lovely room, amazing view, comfy bed, excellent customer service.

The upgrades are very good and the restaurant reopening us fantastic, although it was closed for the Easter period.

You cannot beat the location and view and this is what you are paying for. Many good cafes and restaurants near by and right on the beach. Very comfortable bed and a large room. However, small details let the quality down considering the cost of the rooms e.g. Broken hair dryer, missing hand soap and other amenities in the bathroom until the last housekeeping service etc.

A quick check-in. Internal open carpeted staircase and lift access to Room 401. Beautiful surf vista through large glass door and windows the width of the room. Loved the chaise lounge setting, so comfortable. Dining setting, coffee plunger. Our anticipation at staying at this chosen beachfront accommodation was marred by a strong bleach like smell that permeated the room. The window was open when we entered and the wind was howling into the room. When we removed our shoes we discovered that a 1 metre square patch of wet sodden carpet directly outside the bathroom door. I have an aversion to chemical smells and as it got colder and windier I shut the window but the fumes gave me a headache and the musty smell mixed with the bleach smell so had to open the window for the night. My husband slept badly because when he laid on the left side of the bed it sunk down to the base, the right side was well sprung. My husband ended up with back pain and sat on the couch for half the night. Upon checking out, I mentioned the bleach smell, as well as stating it on the check-in survey, and how we didn’t shower for fear it may be a drainage problem because of the wet carpet. The reception staff said that there had been issues in 401 and 402 the previous couple of days but they believed they were fixed and yes the smell would be bleach. This information would have been appreciated when we checked in. Shows a lack of courtesy and respect for paying guests.

Great seaside property

The room we booked was supposed to have a partial sea view but you could only see the sea view from outside on the balcony. This was very disappointing. We upgraded to a more expensive room on the second night which was lovely.

Excellent accomodation in a fantastic location and friendly staff. Top notch stay.

Stayed two nights in a balcony room overlooking the beach, which was lovely. Our room was forgotten by housekeeper for daily service, but another staff member sorted this for us. Comfortable & clean with good parking.

Great view, would stay again

Would definitely stay here again. Great accomodations on the St Clair Esplanade. Wonderful space and modern design aesthetics

This is a fabulous hotel. Our room was spacious and well appointed with an underground car park. The local restaurants are amazing and you’re on the seafront.

Great location across from St. Clair beach. Room was nice, bed was comfortable. Reception staff was helpful with suggestions. We would stay here again if we came back to the area.

Have stayed here many times before. Was disappointed by the room . Don’t book an executive suite. Very unfriendly receptionist when we arrived. Let her team down

Lovely room and great position close to a surf beach. Free swim in a salt water pool. Room was very well equipped so we could have our breakfast there before heading out to see the sights!

We were disappointed with how tired it was. We last stayed here about 10 yrs ago and it was amazing. Our first impressions was walking into our room and there was a curtain hanging off its hooks. There obviously had been a flood as the bottom of the kitchen cupboards had water damage. The only thing that saved the room was the view and the bed and linen were great 5 stars. But wouldn't go back unless they revamped the room. Was gutted when we paid over $400 a night you would expect better.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the St Clair hotel. We booked a sea view suite, it really was worth the little extra - a fabulous view, spacious room with sitting and sleeping areas, vety comfortable. All reception people were lovely and helpful. Parking is free in their underground car park as parking on the sea front is tricky. There are multiple dining options but do book ahead as the Tiki restaurant loked nice but was full on both nights. We went esrly to the Italian, had to wait 20 minutes but it was very good. In all a great stay. And as a guest pf St Clair you have free access to the heated salt water pool on the front. Highly recommend this hotel.
