Scandic Holberg

Very well decorated, cozy hotel with music background, calm atmosphere, hypo allergic carpets, I would recommend the hotel. I did not like the heating was not working even after turning it on so I asked for a electric heating which they gave right away but a bit small for the room I would fell cold there during the winter months.

The property was near the theatre district, it was well presented and we were in a refurbished room. Staff were friendly and pleasant, but the breakfast staff were exceptional, can you pass on my thanks to these people.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms are very dated, narrow beds but room was clean. Bathrooms were nice and clean, although compact. Breakfast was very good with everyone catered for and great service.

Decent location, near a supermarket but be aware has no air conditioning

Arrived very early to have our luggage held until check in and staff was able to get us checked in anyway. Really appreciated that kind of service. The room was clean and cute although access to the shower was very small, would not work for a heavy person.

Great location, perfectly adequate three-star hotel if somewhat tired and scuffed in places. For the price, fine, and I stay there often.

Although the breakfast is tasty and has a large selection (fresh vegetables, fruit...) during the week it only lasts until 9:30 (a little too short) and after that time the lights in the restaurant are turned off and the food is taken away. The room is tiny, without a kettle or coffee machine. The bathroom is also tiny. My room had windows facing the street and it was very noisy due to the trams. The reception service was very nice, helpful and professional. She provided us with boiling water, so we could store our luggage longer without any problems.

Great place to stay near good transportation hotspots. You can easily walk to downtown and even the sea side. The place is super quiet and well isolated, I had great sleep. The breakfast are amazing for the price of the hotel.

Perfect stay for a trip to Oslo, no flaws

We had a fantastic stay at the Scandic Holberg. I had emailed ahead to let them know that it would be our first visit to Oslo celebrating a special birthday. I received a prompt reply saying they would try their best to accommodate my requests for a nice, quiet room. We were warmly greeted at Reception upon arrival by Valentina, wishing me a Happy Birthday. Our room was great...at the back & quiet. A pleasant surprise was a birthday message on the door & a muffin & candle with birthday message in the room. The room was clean and quite spacious. The bathroom had a heated floor which was lovely. The breakfast had a huge variety which was great. The only thing I would mention is that it wasn't very warm and could have been kept hot better. The addition of a toaster for bread would also have been good. The location of the hotel was great. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall though, I would highly recommend this hotel.

The first room we were assigned had a faulty lock, and we were given a far more spacious room. The first we'd been given would have been tight. The light was great, and some might have minded the streetcar rumble, but it didn't go late into the night. The one radiator in the room tried hard, but it was quite chilly, though the duvets were adequate for the cold. My daughter, in a second room, noted blood on pillows, a marker for a bedbug infestation, but none appeared to be resident during our 3 night stay. Excellent sized elevator handled 3 and ample luggage, quite out of the ordinary. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. A comfortable lounge on the main floor where you could linger without pressure to buy drinks - romantically lit, so bring your booklight. Steps away from good Indian and Italian restaurants, the hourly airport bus, and all sorts of public transportation. Very close to palace and gardens.

The hotel is well located. But, interiors are pretty dated. We had a good room, and a nice breakfast spread. But there was a sour end to our experience. I left the luggage in the luggage room and dropped by later that day to pick it up. There was nobody at the reception and another guest was also getting late. I made the FLYBUSS just in time (with 2 minutes to spare).

Room faced a wall

The rooms are alright. Bathroom is fine. Breakfast is outstanding- good value.

The hotel has excellent location, major sights are within walking distance or few stops by tram. The breakfast is a real feast, a good selection of warm and cold dishes and perfect service. All staff are professional. The only negative point is the size of the room, even the bed is narrow for a couple. Another minor problem, there are only Norwegian, Swedish an Finnish cannels on TV.

The room is small and basic, yes, but there are many plusses that made us satisfied with this booking: genuinely nice staff, great location (tram stops across the street with the Central Station only 10 minutesride away, or an easy 10-minute walk to Nationaltheatret Train Station through the palace park), and above all amazing complementary breakfast (wide selection and a mountain of smoked salmon every single morning!). This is our first trip to Oslo. Pleasurable stay.
