Hotel was great. There were works at George square with lots of diversions. Couldn’t reach the hotel by car. Had to wheel the suitcases to the main entrance. Lucky enough to get a room a the other side, so we were not affected by the noise.

We arrived to a disabled room, not requested, but we had a quick look round before going out for the evening and thought it looked OK. We came back after our evening out, to find we couldn't get any hot water in the basin. I went down to reception, who came up to have a look. To get hot water he showed us we needed to run the shower and then use the basin! This is a disabled bathroom ,so effectively a wet room. So someone had to go and turn the shower off so that we could use the basin! The pressure of the watering the basin was also huge, but the gentleman thought this was acceptable! We were very tired so just went to our bed. The following morning we went down to breakfast to find the only egg choice was scrambled, which was not made with fresh eggs. I haven't had scrambled eggs like that for over 30 years. Absolutely disgusting! For a hotel which charges such large fees, this is totally unacceptable and we will not be staying there or in any of their other hotels. Dreadful.

I think i had high expectations of the suite as I had went for the executive room. Disappointedly, it was no better than other hotel room of standard value in other hotels. One thing that did stand out to me as basic requirement was cleanliness. The top of the headboard was covered in dust, as were the bedside tables. Additionally there was no mat outside of the shower/bath which is required to prevent a fall, moreso due to the tiles becoming very slidy during my shower. I opted to use a towel for this purpose. The switch cover next to the bed for the lights should be replaced, again this is an executive suite, so lets it down visually. The bed was also a very uncomfortable experience. I am so disappointed as this was a birthday gift to myself. Im sure other people may have different experiences of these rooms and this unfortunately was mine.

This was a sad overnight visit. Property is so tired. Can’t remember the last time I actually switched a light on in a hotel room instead of a card slot. The room had a strange smell. There was a constant droning noise the entire night (similar to a generator). The reception was unmanned at times. Had reason to use disabled access which was dark & dingy and required a call to reception for someone to unlock it. Breakfast completely average and no fresh fruit that I could see. On the plus side, bed was very comfortable. I remember its glory days as the Copthorne, which are long since gone. Quite expensive too, for below average stay. Wouldn’t pay another visit. Though not their fault, entire George Square area is disrupted due to building works, even when you’re walking.

For the road weary traveller, I definitely recommend this grand old hotel. The room was spacious and clean, although the furniture a bit thread bare. She's showing her age, but aren't we all? What she lacks there, she more than makes up with a beautiful, clean bathroom and full size soaker tub. Take the time to find a delicious bath bomb in a nearby shop, then relieve your weary bones with a nice long, hot soak. The bathroom even provided a sewing kit and vanity pack at no charge. This hotel is conveniently located close to the train stations, bus station (including the one that goes to Belfast) shopping areas and is located on the main square which is currently undergoing some reconstruction and will be amazing once it's completed. The Millennium will give you front row seats to any events planned for here. Enjoy!

Wonderful location next to main rail station. Unfortunately, my reservation for a suite was downgraded to a regular room with a view (the person at check-in actually had the nerve to call it "an upgrade" when I was charged $50.00 more than the price of the room I received). Thankfully, the manager eventually admitted the mistake and did his best to resolve the issue. Call it a A for effort but C-minus for record keeping. All-in-all, I would give the place another chance next time I visit Glasgow.
