The room was ideal for a solo traveller like myself. The room was very quiet, clean and tidy. The hotel was in an excellent location on George Square. The breakfast was excellent with a good range of options. The staff were extremely friendly including the receptionist who was very helpful. The interior of the hotel is very impressive.

The room was so spacious and clean!

Firstly, the staff do an excellent job of trying to provide service in a hotel that is outdated, poorly maintained and ready for demolition. Not only is there no air conditioning (fine, none was advertised) but there is no ventilation leading to unbearably hot and stuffy rooms. A noisy fan is provided to circulate hot air. The windows open a crack at the top to provide no relief, and large amounts of noise. Everything is old, battered and poorly maintained. If you were paying £50 per night I think it’s what you would expect, but at the rates they charge it is unacceptable. Genuinely the hotel needs shutting down and wholesale redevelopment. Again, wish to emphasise that the staff are friendly and helpful but they really have nothing to work with.

Perfect location

The building itself is a little old, but bath space is very clean, there are wonderful amenities including slippers, tooth brush, water and so on. The room is very big! Wonderful stay.

The Millennium hotel is on St George Square which was being redesigned while we were there and promises to be a lovely space. The room we were in was very spacious and looked over the square. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the bathroom was a bit dated but served it's purpose. Lots of luxuriilike dressing gowns, slippers, tea, coffee, biscuits, both still and sparkling water etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They have an arrangement with a local NCP for parking. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.

Great location for exploring central Glasgow

The hotel is very convenient to the train station and to local restaurants and shopping. The hotel looks out over the square, but unfortunately the square was under construction. In a few months it will be wonderful... There is so much construction going on in the downtown area - in a few months Glasgow will really shine.

Location

Excellent location as next door to Queen Street Station. Warm welcome from the staff. Room was a good size, albeit a little dated. Beds were comfy. Only downside for us was no power sockets next to, or near the beds themselves. Meant the c-pap machine couldn't be used!

Staff we came across were excellent, checking in obliged with adjoining rooms, young guy on morning duty about 30yrs, sorted me out for breakfast and gave me a complimentary can of IrnBru to help my hangover 👍👏👏Though his personal service was super, he also greeted us when we staggered in later that evening after we attended our wedding,he was friendly and chatty and made us valued even though we were worse for ware.

Rooms need updating Breakfast not value for money

Bedrooms need a wee refresh. Dining room lovely. Lovely crisp cotton sheets and duvet cover. curtains, some hooks were missing so sagged a little. Good facilities including a fan, ironing board and iron, and a hairdryer. Swivel chair needs replaced, it was falling apart.

Our one issue arises from the room window, which was painted shut. The staff quickly had maintenance free it up, but byelaws require a safety chain be permanently attached to it so that it can only be raised about 4 inches. Given that temperatures were the hottest in decades that meant the room was too hot to get a good nights sleep. I am told that heat is not an issue in Glasgow usually but global warming requires something be done, perhaps a window fan to bring cool air in. Passive cooling is not enough.

The place was so charming. Beautiful staircase. The room was small but quaint and comfortable for 1 person. Bathroom was modern and clean. Unfortunately this old building is not air conditioned and I happened to be there during an unusual heat wave! Although there was a fan in the room it was a huge noisy thing that I could not sleep with. The breakfast was not the best, scrambled eggs too mushy and swimming in liquid were inedible and the fruits were all canned and over sweet. Luckily they had other options. Staff was friendly and helpful and apologetic about the heat, but I’m sure this is a rare occurrence in Scotland, so they can’t be faulted. The location was ideal, next to Queen Street station, Buchanan Street, the hop on hop off bus. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again…in cooler temperatures.
