Surprisingly nice! Hotel was a little out of the way but with how small Edinburgh is we were able to walk to most places without any issues! Room was compact but comfortable and the staff was very kind.

The Moxy feels like it is trying really hard to be hip and cool. Maybe too hard. I should have realized when checking in and they didn't take a credit card for incidentals...because there are no incidentals to be had. In fact, our tiny rooms had no safe, no fridge, and no phone - I hope if you ever run out of toilet paper you have two rooms like we did so you won't have to go all the way down to the front desk to request more. We requested rooms close to one another and they managed 5 rooms apart...until we got in one of the rooms and it stank so badly of sewer we needed to move that one to another floor. There were some issues with cleanliness...one of our rooms had dirty glassware and mugs in it, and at the breakfast buffet a couple of times we had to dig through the pile of "clean" plates to find ones that didn't have old food on them.0 For positives, the staff was friendly and helpful (getting a new room to replace the smelly one was done quickly for us), the beds and bathrooms were very clean, and the breakfast was definitely on the good side for hotel chain fare. Location is really good. Overall, not too bad of a place, likely a lot better for single travellers who just need somewhere to crash. I'd avoid staying here until their renovations are done - all of the rooms which are inside-faving have scaffolding outside your windows and workers will be walking past your window on the regular.

We stated at the Moxy, it is within walking distance from Haymarket station and centre of Edinburgh. The hotel was clean, tidy, rooms were comfortable and a decent size. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel is in a great location for exploring Edinburg. The rooms are small but clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. We did have a problem with our air con and it was surprisingly warm in the city for April. The staff sent someone to look at it f provided a fan to cool down the room. Breakfasts were buffet style and were a little crowded. The food wasn’t anything I’d rave about, but it was decent and there was plenty of it. The cocktail bar at the top of the hotel is lovely and well worth a visit.

Breakfast seemed a good selection. Could have been a better fruit selection and sausages were cheap. Only scrambled eggs offered. Bread was fresh. Nice pastry selection. The general look and vibe of a Moxy is nice, especially staying with our teenager. Room is exactly what you’d want in a hotel room. We stayed in a twin room and the beds were very uncomfortable! Friendly attentive staff. Bar is vibrant and sociable. Location is not too far away from the landmarks of Edinburgh. In fact, we quite enjoyed the walk from the centre to the hotel, as you walked past the side of the castle, where you could see the rock face - quite a sight! All in all, we were happy with our hotel. Thank you Moxy.

The Moxy hotels are a bit different as the lobby is the bar and is where you check in. Staff at check in (Melissa?) was friendly and helpful and the lobby offered complimentary water as well as seating areas and games. Our room was small, but clean, but had limited storage; no dressers or closets -- just a small hanging bar. The bathroom was tiny but clean. Breakfast was quite expensive compared to other hotels we stayed at while in Scotland, but they did offer complimentary coffee until 10am (my husband was upset since he tried to get coffee a few minutes after 10, but everything was shut down). The biggest issue was parking and loading/unloading luggage as it's located in a very busy area with no options other than parking garages (they offered a code for a particular lot, but it didn't work).
