This is a lovely hotel, staff were great, food was fabulous. They have an excellent pastry chef. It’s a relaxed hotel in a quiet area. Very handy for travelling by car from Newcastle.
One point, some rooms are directly above the function room and there was a wedding on when we were there. They lit fire pits which meant our room quickly filled with the smell of smoke. We had wanted our bedroom window open at night but couldn’t because of the fire pits, even when they moved them round the corner the smoke was still coming into the room. It’s also a bit noisy if you have a room above the function room as wedding guests came outside. However, the weddings stop at midnight so you can get to sleep after that.

The moment i walked into the property the staff were welcoming. I had a fantastic stay and i would definitely will be coming back!

The indoor area of the Spa was very relaxing.
The outdoor pool was heated and so peaceful as was the sauna and plunge pool.
Exellent stay.
Staff were exellent and very friendly.
Will be back.

Lovely accommodation, castle rooms felt a little tired but the bathrooms were excellent. The drawing room space is a wonderful retreat. The bar is not staffed as often as I’d expect and it was occasionally challenging to get a mid morning coffee. The spa staff were pretty unfriendly about small children coming through the entrance due to treatments taking place but they have set children’s swim time of 9-10 and 4-5 so these policies and practices seemed at odds with one another.

We booked this hotel following positive feedback from friends.
I can safely say this was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. From the warm hospitality of the staff, to the cleanliness of the room, the exquisite food, and the range of facilities at our leisure, it was just incredible. The spa and its heated outdoor pool was a particular highlight.
It was a simply phenomenal experience. Not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but worth every single penny.

Had an amazing couple of nights at Schloss. The staff are so lovely, nothing was too much trouble. The decor is absolutely stunning. Beautiful rooms with comfortable beds and the spa is to die for. Breakfast of champions. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for pure luxurious relaxation! 5 stars

An amazing escape away from it all in beautiful surroundings. Fantastic service and a very high standard of finish in all areas of the hotel. The Spa is like a sanctuary and swimming outdoors at sunset can’t be beaten. Can’t wait to return.

Lovely hotel with everything one could ask for. Stayed three nights and wouldn’t leave as the property had so much to offer for a relaxing stay in the countryside. Even has a little market for extras one may need for a snack or swimsuit for the wonderful spa.
