The hotel is beautiful. The temperature inside the hotel is warm, considering the cold and rainy Edinburgh weather, the people cannot do enough for you, and it’s in a great location. The only problem is outside the hotel, it’s very busy because there’s the train stop right there and the bus stop but you’re centrally located so that is great. There are always cabs outside running to take you anywhere. The restaurant, the Number One, in the hotel, Michelin rated, is excellent. They have a great gym downstairs. My only negative experience is when my daughter and I went on Sunday, 2/15/26 for brunch at our hotel, there was a young girl with dark hair and blue eyes who has the hostess. She asked us if we had a reservation and we did not. She asked us if we were staying at the hotel and we said yes. Meanwhile, 90% of the hotel restaurant the Brasserie that we are referring to, was empty. She put us at the furthest table away, in the back corner, by the exit door where it was cold. I said and this is where you’re seating us? She said well it’s Sunday and every other table is reserved. After my daughter and I left 45 minutes later, we had to rush because we had a private tour, 85% of the restaurant was still empty. She never said goodbye to us and we walked past her. Very rude. When people are saying at a five star hotel, and we can afford to stay anywhere, service matters. I would suggest you give this hostess at the at the Brasserie on May 15 at 12 noon a lesson in service

Everything was quite simply outstanding - staff, accommodation, food and services. This was a special birthday celebration and we were delighted to be given an upgrade to the room we had booked as well as some lovely treats. Staff could not have been more helpful and the room was just perfect. The second daily service is a delightful touch and we appreciated it so much. Thank you for making our whole stay a dream come true!
