The Balmoral Hotel

Super nice staff. We wanted to enter the bar at night with the kids but due to licensing issue, no kids are allowed unless ordering full meals. We were full so didn’t need meals and the manager gladly found a table in another dining area of the hotel and provided services for us. Very convenient location right next to the train station. You can basically walk everywhere, to the castle or to the hill. Loved our stay and would definitely stay again!

The view from my room window was stunning , straight out onto the castle and princess street . Windows opened a bit as it was very warm so that’s a plus . It felt a bit cramped and I was glad I had travelled alone . Windows were double glazed and room Was quiet at night . Breakfast is phenomenal, if you are someone who can stock up and last all day then this is for you . Sadly I am a grazer !! I found the cleaning invasive , phone chargers coiled and wrapped , my dirty washing pile in the wardrobe was hung up on hangers !!! Then when I discovered they wanted to charge me for them putting those silly cushions back on the bed twice a day I felt narked . I felt I had already paid and wished I had said once a day was enough especially as things like biscuits and milk aren’t refreshed daily . Maybe I am nit picking ?!! Love the stair carpets and stained glass windows on stair well . Love Edinburgh but not sure I would the extra for here again .

A very warm welcome from the doorman and lady on reception. Check in was quick and we were given a complimentary upgrade. Our room was ready on arrival 4 hours before check in. A welcome gift awaited us. Breakfast is fantastic

This hotel was wonderful. The staff was excellent, friendly, helpful, and so nice. The hotel and the room are beautiful and in a great central location. They are kid-friendly and have the room prepared for our daughter. She felt like the hotel was all about her with cookies, chocolate milk, a cute owl stuffy and her own bath accessories. Room service was also excellent. This is one of, if not the nicest, hotels we have experienced in all of our travels.

Lovely historic hotel with friendly staff, well appointed rooms, and good dining options.

Everything was top notch! The staff, the property, the food. Loved our stay.

Fabulous property in the city centre. Gorgeous room, with everything we needed, spotlessly clean, beautiful bed linen and towels. Great shower and bath. Expensive, even for Edinburgh but a great experience. Lovely breakfast, good coffee and beautiful public areas.

Fabulous hotel had a great 1 night stay hotel staff all outstanding but be aware they make had a 2% service charge but apart from that would definitely stay again

The atmosphere and ambience is one no other can compete with. This hotel is centrally located in Edinburgh and the service goes beyond excellence. Thank you Balmoral I’ve left my heart in Scotland!

This building and it’s history alone is amazing. Brasserie Prince is a must. I adore this hotel.

Great hotel

The most beautiful hotel and attentive staff you could ask for. All requests were handled professionally and truly was a memorable experience. Afternoon tea at Palm court was also sublime.

We had an amazing time t the Balmoral. The staff from you entered until you left were wonderful. Room was very comfortable and the breakfast was first class with wide selection on buffet and hot food order was wonderful. We will be back.
