A soft, fluffy towel can elevate bathroom routine, giving a spa-like experience for ultimate comfort and relaxation. But, as usual, it's not always that easy. Over time, towels can lose their softness due to myriad factors, leaving you with a towel that feels more like a cat's tongue then a luxury bath sheet. Softer towels would be appreciated.

While the hotel had some acceptable features, my overall experience was negatively impacted by several inconveniences. Every time I needed to leave the hotel, I was required to hand over the room key, which I found unnecessary and inconvenient. Parking was another issue—I had to park on the street and then walk to the hotel just to ask staff to open the parking gate. Additionally, during a power blackout, no backup measures were offered. Not even a simple candle was provided, leaving guests in complete darkness. A bit more preparedness and flexibility from the staff would go a long way in improving the guest experience.

It was my first time visiting Barcelona and my flight would leave the city very early in the morning. For this reason, I chose this hotel as I thought it was closer to the airport that if I had stayed in areas near, for instance, Sagrada Familia or the Gothic Quarter. It turned out that Hotel Esplugues is ar far, or maybe a bit further, from the airport as if I had stayed closer to famous touristic attractions. Still, the hotel is excellent, in a safe area, clean, friendly staff and, most importantly, great value for money! I would have had to pay double or triple the price to stay anywhere near tourist attractions, so at the end of the day, I was happy to stay a bit far away and use public transport to go back and forth to Barcelona. If you are using public transport, know that Hotel Esplugues is outside the city of Barcelona, so the public transport tourist card may not work on some buses that go to or come from there. I would probably stay there again, despite being a bit out of the way.
