Historic Hotel Steinbock

Clean room, room are little dark, with small window. Staff was nice. breakfast were excellent : many choices of bread, croissant, ham, cheese,… No staff at the desk on evening and overnight but easy to reach by calling available phone on the desk.

We stayed at the Steinboch for four nights, the Hotel is historic so don't expect a modern room. But it was honestly fine, I liked the room, loved the Hotel, right beside an old church. The area around is beautiful, and it is close to the train station whichnis a plus. Food was also very good. The biggest problems for us was that the room wasnt fully clean when we got there. We seen someones used band aid on the floor. Also one of the nights the heat didnt really work which left us having to use the hair dryer for heat lol. Tbh, all this stuff I dont really care too much about. However, one big issue I had is, I am on my honeymoon with my wife, which I let them know. So one night we had music playing. Not until 1am in the morning mind you. But getting close to 10pm. We hear a knock on the door. Then all of a sudden our door opens. I walk up to the door and the inkeeper is there looking at me with an angry face and yells at me to turn it off then walks away to his room. My wife had just gotten out of the shower 10 minutes before he knocked and decided to open the door to our room. Pretty brutal, also there is signs all over the place telling you what you van and can't do. Including for every minute you stay past check out you pay 10 franks. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, but that definately put a bad taste in our mouth

A perfect little inn, Traditional, clean & warm. Great location, easy check in & checkout. Breakfast was a welcome addition.

Yes, the room was spotless, the front view from the room of the running brook and the sound of serenity were unmatched. The church-view on the other side and periodical chiming of church bells made the stay surreal. Beautiful boutique hotel, well maintained and run by a family with superb connectivity and just few minutes away to Interlaken city-centre, with an awesome array of breakfast. Just a wonderful experience of a lifetime, backdrop of the Swiss Alps with picture post-card look. 100% recommended for a memorable stay.

Basic clean accommodations with continental type of breakfast. Limited English but very willing to help you with any questions. Historic property with older fixtures and furnishings. If you are looking for a 5 star experience, don’t stay here but if you are looking for affordable lodging close to train, bus and driving options, this is perfect.

We were never greeted on check in or during our 2 day stay. Staff were very unwelcoming. The bathroom shower drain was extremely slow causing water buildup, the light level was very poor, the door wouldn’t close properly, and the shower head was broken. The 2 chairs in the room were very musty and VERY uncomfortable. However, the breakfast was good. Bottom line — we would neither recommend this hotel or ever stay here again.

Very cute area with a beautiful view with surrounding mountains. Easy to get around but transportation tends to close early and taxis are costly. Enjoyed our stay but they serve the same exact breakfast every day. After the 3rd day, it starts to get old. Worth the price.

The rooms are cozy with character. The sound from the stream is so relaxing. Really, really quiet area. The breakfast was good and convenient. I would for sure come back !!

Wonderful place! Very clean and the area is beautiful!

This property is in a nice quiet spot with parking and continental breakfast. Bedroom was adequate, comfy big bed although only a shower in the bath, not able to stand up in shower. Easy walking distance of the village and train station. Wish we had more time to explore the area and would have happily have stayed longer if we were able to.

Scooby Doo hotel. Staff are not friendly. The gentleman could not speak English. He only spoke Ukrainian. Great bubbling brook outside. Reason I wouldn’t stay again is staff is flat out mean.

I’m pretty sure this is a family ran hotel. First, you open the door and get a musty smell in the air. Next, you go up the stairs into your room and there’s no AC, there isn’t even a screen window and there are lots of mosquitoes. At night you’ll be sweating because of the humid heat. Also, the boss has a really bad attitude. This was the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at in our 20 days in Europe. It's very frustrating.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, hot water for showers. Only 10 minute bus/train into Interlaken, bus stop is very close walking distance to property. Hotel is right by the river and you can listen to the river at night- lovely! Breakfast was great. I would highly recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Interlaken.

Quiet area, easy access to the trains and exploring the sights. Very quaint Inn. Room was way to hot and leaving an outside door open all night invited bugs and uncomfortable. Even a fan in the room might get have helped. Poor lighting in the bathroom. Good breakfast l, homemade bread was amazing

Very quiet, safe, beautiful neighbourhood! Must see neighbourhood in this area. Would stay again. Difficult to figure out how to check in initially, as the front door was locked and no entry instructions were left in the booking; but pressed an intercom button and was let in. Reception desk has limited hours, however there is a phone available at the desk to call a staff member to the desk, usually only takes a minute or two for this, so is still super convenient and easy! Wifi was good, bed was comfortable, shower had good pressure. Gorgeous building, very neat place to stay. Staff were friendly. Breakfast included, and was delicious, coffee as well. Close to train station, 2 stops (5 mins) into town, or a 30 minute walk. Such a gorgeous area, highly recommend. I totally would stay here again if in the area! And would recommend anyone to stay here too :)!

The hotel has the best view, lovely aesthetic place to stay. Great location. Good breakfast. Check out time is quite strict and not flexible, faced some last minute issues because of it. The first floor balcony room doesn't have a secure door , which makes it unsafe. Recommend the hotel to fix this ensuring a better stay. Saying all this , I still highly recommend this place.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING property - everything was as advertised and the location and ambience is second to none. No room fridge, but leaving your beers outside the window works fine
